Dear Friends,

As spring approaches, so does the bustling and often overwhelming season of puppies and kittens We’re already bracing ourselves for the challenges ahead, knowing that this time of year brings a surge of little lives in need of care and attention. From fostering newborns to handling the influx of animals in shelters, it’s a busy season for us all. But, with your continued support, we’re ready to face it head-on, knowing we’re not in this alone.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, 2025 has already been a year of significant impact. We’ve rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed countless animals, and we’ve started off strong with many successful medical treatments, spay/neuter programs, and lifesaving surgeries. Every life we touch every animal we save is a direct result of your belief in our mission and your dedication to the cause. Your support has truly made a difference in so many lives, and for that, we are endlessly grateful.

But our work is far from over. As we step into this busy season, we need compassionate people like you now more than ever. Whether you’re interested in fostering, volunteering at events, or helping with day-to-day care, there’s a place for you on our team. Every set of hands makes a difference, and every act of kindness helps us provide these animals with the care and love they deserve.

I hope you find this newsletter both informative and motivational We want to show you the tangible results of your contributions and inspire you to stay involved in any way you can. Together, we are shaping brighter futures for countless animals in need

FLEEING THE NIGHTMARE: JOLENE'S FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL

When Jolene escaped her yard, she was running from more than just her home she was fleeing a nightmare. Behind her, three of her canine companions lay still, their bodies lifeless and emaciated, chains still cruelly wrapped around their necks. They had died from starvation, forgotten and ignored. Jolene, barely more than skin and bones herself, used the last of her strength to make it to a nearby home, desperate for help

That moment saved her life.

Since coming into the care of Rescue One, Jolene has made incredible progress. With love, food, and gentle care, her spirit has begun to shine through the darkness she endured Her eyes, once filled with fear are now filled with hope.

Authorities are actively involved and pursuing justice for the suffering Jolene endured, as well as the tragic loss of three other innocent lives Jolene’s story is one of profound heartbreak, but also a testament to survival, resilience, and the urgent need for stronger animal protection laws in Missouri.

Stay tuned! Jolene will soon be looking for her forever home!

UNBREAKABLE: THE INSPIRING STORY OF JORDAN

When tiny Jordan was brought into our clinic, curled up and trembling in a box after being struck by a car, we weren’t sure she would make it through the night. The damage was devastating: one of her eyes was gone, her leg was severed and required an immediate amputation, and a deep wound marred the side of her cheek and nose. It was heartwrenching to witness such a young soul fighting so desperately for survival.

She wasn’t ready to give up and neither were we.

Jordan spent weeks recovering in our clinic, where she received constant care from our veterinary team. Eventually, the wound on her face closed and she adapted to life on three legs with astonishing grace and before long, nothing could slow her down. Now, Jordan is living her best life in her forever home, where she is cherished and adored. She spends her days exploring, playing, and soaking up love We’re incredibly honored to have been a part of Jordan’s journey and to witness her transformation.

MEET FLASH GORDON:

Flash is the sweetest 11-year-old Westie who’s proof that age is just a number. Despite being blind and managing diabetes, Flash’s spirit remains as strong and full of love as ever While his adventurous days look a little different now, Flash is still eager for cuddles, a canine companion, and a warm bed.

Flash may need a little extra care, including monthly medications that cost around $100, but all he truly wants is a quiet home where he can relax and enjoy his golden years With his big heart and endless love to give, Flash is ready to find a special family who’s willing to offer him a peaceful retirement in exchange for all the love he has to offer. If you’re looking for a truly special companion, please consider giving flash a chance. Apply today at rescueonespringfield.com!

MEET COOKIE:

A DIABETIC CAT AS SWEET AS HIS NAME

If there were an award for the most affectionate cat, Cookie would undoubtedly take home the gold! At 5 years old, he may look a little rough and worn due to his past, but this guy is the sweetest! When he came into our care, he was diagnosed with diabetes, a condition that requires regular medication. His monthly medication costs around $80, and he doesn’t mind his injections.

Cookie would thrive best as an only cat, where he can enjoy the peace and quiet of his own space He loves attention, cuddles, and having his humans all to himself. Cookie is looking for a home where he can be appreciated for the unique and special cat he is. If Cookie sounds like the cat for you, fill out an application today at rescueonespringfield.com.

Meet Astro

Hey there, I'm Astro! I'm a playful 1-year-old, 45-pound pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. I adore romping around with doggy friends my size, and after a good play session, I’m potty trained, kennel trained, and super treat-motivated, so I’m always excited to learn something new. I’d love a home with a fenced yard and a doggy buddy to keep me company, but no cats for me!

Meet Oscar

Hi, I’m Oscar! I’m a charming shorthaired boy born on July 19, 2017, and I’m all about snuggles and conversation. I get along great with older cats, dogs, and kids, making me the perfect addition to a lively home! I have FeLV and I’m mostly blind, but that doesn’t stop me one bit! I still chase laser pointers like a pro and run to you when you call my name I’m a brave little survivor who’s ready to fill your days with love and laughter!

Meet Olaf

At 2 5 years old, I’m the perfect blend of goofy, affectionate, and playful. After spending most of my life tied outside, I am now enjoying the comforts of a real home cozy couches, belly rubs, and even TV time! I’m house-trained, cratetrained, and friendly with both dogs and cats. Since I don’t quite know my size, I’d do best with kids 12 and older I would love a family ready to give me all the love, patience, and adventure I deserve!

""Rescue One didn’t just help us find a dog — they helped us find a missing piece of our family. The love and gratitude in our pup’s eyes every day remind us how much rescue really matters" RESCUE ONE ADOPTER
