PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Many refer to the “dog days of summer” as a time when things slow down due to the heat and humidity. Interestingly, this expression originates from ancient astronomy not actual dogs when the star Sirius, also known as the “Dog Star,” rose alongside the sun. The ancients believed this alignment added to the summer heat.
At RBCC, things are certainly heating up but with excitement, positive energy, and anticipation as we celebrate the Club’s Centennial summer!
The Fourth of July Celebration and Cookout is already sold out! Festivities will kick off at 5:30pm in the Ballroom, beginning with our new tradition: the reading of the Declaration of Independence. We hope many of you will join us to enjoy a bit of history, shared by a dozen readers of all ages And don’t forget this week’s Trivia Night will focus on our Club’s Centennial and major events from the past 100 years.
In mid-July, we’re honored to welcome Francis Tiafoe and his Foundation A cocktail reception will be held on Wednesday, July 16, followed by a tennis exhibition on Thursday afternoon. Thank you, Terri, for making this incredible experience happen! Tickets are still available for the reception and general standing high top section room for the exhibition.
Our Talon Tribe continues to organize fantastic events for kids, families, and adults alike. Kids’ Camps are in full swing A Glow Pool Party and Family Movie Night are scheduled for July 24
Please be sure to register soon for our Centennial Gala on August 2 a night you won’t want to miss. The Centennial Committee and Management have worked for several years putting an unforgettable night together The Club will be completely transformed, covering every room and reflecting time periods of the last 100 years. This will be an “adults-only” occasion, but Kids Club services will be available during the evening to help with childcare

Sharon Covington Board President
will host several cocktail receptions this July to thank Members of the Operations, Strategic, and Ad Hoc Committees.
That same weekend is also the sold-out Men’s Member-Guest Golf Tournament with a Saturday night gala making it one of the busiest and most exciting times at the Club.
One of the most fun events I’ve attended recently was the Taylor Swift Tribute Band night! We had “Swifties” from 90 years old to 9 months old getting glammed up and dancing the night away alongside a few very brave guys! My daughters and granddaughters had an absolute blast. Huge thanks to Spaska and her team for masterminding such a memorable evening
Check our website and ForeTees to view and register for all upcoming activities.
As I begin to wind down my tenure as President, I want to start expressing my deep gratitude to all of you who have supported the Board's initiatives and me. I especially want to recognize the more than 100 Members who serve on Board Committees, generously sharing their time, skills, and expertise to help shape what RBCC is today. The Board
The 1925 Eagle Foundation which was launched just a year ago and has already received over $100,000 in contributions will also host a special event at the end of the month to honor its founding donors.
Finally, as I mentioned in last month’s letter, I encourage you to try the Club’s take-out catering service this summer for your home gatherings. I had the chance to use it twice last month, including food for a backyard wedding we pulled together in 24 hours for dear friends. I can say that Andra, Chef Carolyn, and their team were nothing short of spectacular, making last-minute entertaining easy and elegant.
I look forward to spending these “dog days” with you and celebrating everything that makes our RBCC community so special.

GENERAL MANAGER’S MESSAGE
forward together. As dusk settles, all eyes will turn to the sky for our spectacular fireworks display, a glowing reminder of the community and celebration that bind us.
JULY AT THE CLUB: A CENTENNIAL SUMMER IN FULL SWING
As the heat rises and the sun stretches its days well into the evening, there’s no doubt that summer has officially arrived at the Club, and with it comes the signature energy, tradition, and celebration that defines life here in July.
We kick off Independence Day with a two-day celebration you won’t want to miss. The Bike Parade on July 3rd will once again bring joyful color and hometown charm to West Side Drive, led by streamers, stars, and the sound of laughter from our youngest Members. Then, on the Fourth of July, we gather for our traditional Cookout, packed with delicious summer fare, non-stop kids’ activities, and of course, the reading of the Declaration of Independence—a tradition that grounds us in history as we look
But July doesn’t stop there—it accelerates. The weekend that follows promises a packed calendar and bustling energy across every part of our campus. The pools are buzzing, kids’ camps are reaching record levels of participation, and our Fitness Classes, under the thoughtful leadership of Colleen, are more numerous than ever which are designed to elevate your experience no matter the temperature outside.
This month also brings some very special events and faces to the Club. Frances Tiafoe’s visit will be a marquee moment for our racquet's community and a thrilling highlight of our Centennial Summer, joining our Annual Member-Guest tournament and setting the tone as we build toward the unforgettable Centennial Gala on August 2nd. This exclusive, Members-only celebration will transform the Clubhouse into a journey through the decades of our rich history—truly a night to remember.
We’re also delighted to welcome Makaela Lauritsen as our new Golf Shop Merchandiser and Jonathan McAuley as our new Clubhouse Manager—both have joined the Talon Tribe with enthusiasm and a drive to uphold and expand the traditions you love. And a heartfelt congratulations to Kyle Morris, who has grown through our internship program, completed his manager-in-training journey, and is now our Bar Supervisor and Sommelier—a shining example of RBCC's commitment to nurturing the future of hospitality.
While many of us enjoy the relief of air-conditioned comfort indoors, let’s take a moment to appreciate—and check in on—the incredible Talon Tribe members working through the summer heat on the racquet courts, golf course, pool deck, and beyond. Their dedication never falters, even on the hottest days. And as the temperatures soar, a reminder to all: hydration and mindfulness are key. Take breaks, seek shade, and never hesitate to ask a staff member for help if you’re feeling the effects of the heat.
When the weather isn’t cooperating, remember the Club is still your summer sanctuary. From Fitness Classes and Book Club lunches to
brain games like mahjong, cards, Trivia Nights, and the Speaker Series, our indoor offerings keep the spirit of summer alive no matter the forecast.
As beach towns grow busier and the traffic gets thicker, we hope that as soon as you turn onto Country Club Road, a sense of ease sets in. This is your Club, your second home. And everything here is crafted to welcome you, your family, and your friends into a space that’s alive with tradition, community, and joy.
Let’s make this July a month to remember—not just for what it brings to us, but for what we bring to each other. Together, we continue writing the story of this extraordinary Centennial season, paving the way for the next generation to cherish and carry it forward.
Warmly, The Talon Tribe

C's Poem of the Month
"Warm summer sun, shine kindly here; Warm southern wind, blow softly here; Green sod above, lie light, lie light; Good night, dear heart, good night, good night."
- Mark Twain

MEMBER BILLING & PAYMENT FAQ
As we come into our busy season we would like to share with members some of the questions and concerns that we hear frequently.
When are statements issued?
Member statements are generated and mailed or emailed to Members no later than the 5 of the subsequent month. Statements for June 1June 30 are issued no later than July 5. Dues are not posted to Member accounts until the 1 or 2 business day of the following month, so although the date on the statement is the last day of the month, if you view your account online please wait until you see those dues posted before initiating a payment. Those Members who receive ForeTees notifications will get a message when statements have been issued. Members have the option to receive statements via mail, email or both. If you wish to go green, please reach out to Mary with Member Services to have your statement preference changed. th st nd
When is my bill due?
Payment must be received by the last day of the month. For example, your statement dated June 30 is due by July 31. We do not use the postmark date so please allow mailing time if you aren’t paying via ACH or Credit Card.
How can I pay my bill?
The easiest way to pay your bill is to setup ACH or credit card recurring payments on the Club’s website. You can choose the date you’d like the payment to be paid and then you will be charged for your statement balance on that date. We recommend choosing a date between the 5 and 20 . This ensures that your statement balance is paid after we generate statements and is posted in time to avoid finance charges and late fees. th th Additionally, we accept checks by mail or in person at the Club. There is a drop box by the Concierge desk and by Member Services in the Administrative Offices at the Club.
If paying by check, we recommend mailing before the 15 of the month or dropping it off in person at the Club. th If paying by ACH on the website, please submit by the 20 of the month. ACH payments can take up to 5 days to clear our system. th
If you are paying later than the 20th, we recommend paying by credit card or dropping your payment off in person at the Club. Credit card transactions clear overnight and we can post credit card payments to your account the next business day. Note: There is a 3% finance charge for credit card payments.
I pay my bill through my bank’s ACH system or BillPay feature. Why is my payment not posted on the date it clears my account? We have noticed many Members use a system from their bank to send checks to us. If you are using one of these systems, it can take up to 10 business days to arrive in the mail.
When we receive these checks, we can get up to 30 checks in one envelope. The checks almost always vary in date with up to 10 days difference in check dates. While we are unsure how your bank decides to mail checks, the deduction from your bank account happens on the date you chose and can be misleading as to when we physically receive the check here at the Club. Please keep this in mind if you are selecting a date after the 15 with your bank. If we do not receive the funds before the end of the month, you will be assessed late fees and finance charges. th
I prefer to use my bank to send a check. What do you recommend?
We understand that keeping all your bill payments in one place offers security and peace of mind. If you would still like to use the service your bank provides instead of the website, we recommend dating your payment between the 5 and 15 to ensure ample time for delivery. th th

KEEP COOL & STAY HYDRATED
Here's a reminder on how to keep your homes cooler during the summer days from RBCC’s facilities department. Direct sunlight can make your home feel hotter, so focus on blocking it. Here are some tips:
Keep blinds closed to prevent sunlight from entering.
Use ceiling fans counter-clockwise to push air downwards (flip the switch on the side of the fan).
Turn off lights in unattended areas.
Change your HVAC filters regularly. A clogged air filter strains your AC, uses more energy, and shortens its lifespan.
Avoid using the stove. Cooking indoors can heat up your home. Instead, step outside and light up your grill.
Stay cool swim in our pool and enjoy the summer!

Staying hydrated is especially important during the summer, particularly when engaging in outdoor activities like golf and tennis. Warmer temperatures increase the body's fluid loss through sweat, which can lead to dehydration more quickly than in cooler weather. Proper hydration helps regulate body temperature, maintain energy levels, and support muscle function, all of
which are essential for performance and safety during physical activity. Drinking water regularly before, during, and after outdoor play is key to avoiding heat-related illnesses and staying at your best.
So, if you haven’t done so already, pick up your complimentary water bottles in the Golf Shop before July 31!
