Dear Talon Tribe,
As we celebrate this remarkable centennial summer season, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to every one of you—our year-round, seasonal, and overseas staff—who make this club feel like a home away from home for our members and their guests.
Your hard work, dedication, professionalism, and team spirit have not gone unnoticed. Whether you're behind the scenes or greeting families by name, it's your commitment that creates the unforgettable moments our members cherish year after year. From sunlit days on the course to magical evenings under the stars, every detail you handle helps build traditions and memories that span generations.
We hope you're also finding joy in being part of this unique summer season. It's not just about delivering exceptional experiences— it's about sharing them, too. We love seeing you all come together at our employee bonfires, pool parties, day trips, and luncheons. These moments are just as much a part of what makes the club special—for all of us.
As we move through the rest of this beautiful summer, we also want to hear from you. If there's anything we can improve or do differently, please don't hesitate to share your thoughts. Whether it's through our employee survey or a quick chat in person, your voice matters and helps us grow stronger together.
Thank you for being the heart of the Club. Here's to making the rest of this centennial summer just as unforgettable—for our members, and for each other.
With appreciation, "C"
Mulford HR Manager
Talon Tribe,
Welcome to my first Talon Talk newsletter entry! I’m incredibly excited to connect with all of you through this platform, and I hope it becomes another way for us to celebrate the amazing things happening here at RBCC—not just as employees, but as people and teammates.
The Pre-Season Kickoff Party at The Starboard on May 18th was an absolute blast and the perfect way to gear up for the summer season at RBCC! With an incredible turnout from team members across all departments, it was great to see everyone come together outside of work to relax, connect, and have fun. From great food and drinks to plenty of laughs, the night was filled with energy and camaraderie. Events like this remind us just how special our RBCC team truly is— and how important it is to celebrate our hard work together. A huge thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the night so memorable!
Since joining the RBCC team, I’ve been consistently impressed by the hard work, professionalism, and positivity that each of you brings to your role. Whether you're behind the scenes in the kitchen, greeting members at the front, maintaining our beautiful grounds, or anywhere in between, your efforts make a real difference. It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day rush of our busy seasons, but it’s important to take a step back and recognize just how much we accomplish as a team—and how much stronger we are because we lean on each other.
“We’re at our best for our members and each other when we take care of ourselves first.”
As we continue through the heart of our season, I want to take a moment to highlight something I believe is just as important as job performance: your well-being. Life and work are not two separate things—they’re deeply connected. That’s why creating and maintaining a healthy life/work balance is something I take seriously as your HR Manager. We’re at our best for our members
and each other when we take care of ourselves first. Whether that means setting boundaries, finding time to rest, or participating in events like the kickoff party or beach bonfire, these moments of recharge matter.
Mental health is another part of the conversation we shouldn’t shy away from. Stress is real, especially in the hospitality world where expectations are high and the pace is fast. Please know that it’s okay to not be okay sometimes, and you’re never alone here. My door is always open—whether you need resources, support, or just someone to talk to.
I’m proud to be part of this incredible team and even prouder to support each of you. Let’s continue to look out for one another, celebrate our wins (big and small), and keep building the kind of workplace where everyone feels valued and respected. Thanks for all that you do—and here’s to a strong, successful, and supportive season ahead!
Thank you again for all that you do.
Spring weather is officially here, and before RBCC kicks off the summer season, the employees enjoyed a Talon Tribe Golf Outing! Teams participated in 9 holes of golf, followed by lunch and awards. Congratulations to first place winners, Ken, C, and Chuck and second place winners Mary, Erika and Bethany as well as "C" for his closest to the pin win! (Although, he didn't have much competition on that Par 3). During lunch we recognized service anniversaries, enjoyed great company, and started planning our next matches.
Despite the chilly, cloudy weather on June 9th, our first RBCC Pool Party of the season still brought out some smiles and laughter! While the pool was mostly left to the brave kids willing to dive in, a few rounds of soccer and cornhole helped keep the energy up. Even though Mother Nature didn’t cooperate, we made the most of it by enjoying each other’s company and finding ways to have fun. Thanks to everyone who showed up and made the best of a less-than-perfect day!
Our Beach Bonfire on June 23 was another unforgettable RBCC team event, filled with good vibes, laughter, and ocean air. Held right on the sand, the night brought together employees from all departments to enjoy food, drinks, music, games, and some well-earned downtime after a busy start to the season. The relaxed setting made it easy to connect with coworkers, share stories, and build memories that go far beyond the workplace. Whether you came to chill by the fire, break toes, or join a game of soccer or volleyball under the stars, it was a night that truly captured the spirit of the RBCC family. Thanks to everyone who joined us— we can’t wait for the next one!
The Quarterly Tribe Vibe Award winner for Q4 was Mike Vieira who works in the greens department. Some of the things his coworkers said:
“Mike shows up every day ready to complete any task asked of him. He is respected amongst his peers for going above and beyond. He shows integrity by doing things the right way, the way we like them done. He lets us know about any issues he sees regarding equipment or the golf course in general. He had a rough winter but manages to get his job done with a smile on his face. Anytime he finishes a task early he takes the initiative to do something else to stay busy. We need more tribe members like Mike!”
“He’s always busy and takes the initiative to find something to keep busy when he runs out of work. On top of that, he has some health issues, but he does not let it bother him and works as much as he can.”
Congratulations to Mary Veenema on receiving the Tribe Vibe Quarterly Award! Mary has been with RBCC for over a year and displays the Talon Tribe's Core Values of Respect, Integrity and Tribework.
Mary demonstrates Tribework in all she does at the Club! When the Concierge needed help, Mary took over answering phones and helping with printer issues. When the accounting department needed help with Member accounts, Mary was on it helping with the AR process. When F&B has needed volunteers for events, Mary always offers. She shows what being a Talon Tribe member is all about!
Congratulations to Kyle Morris on a welldeserved promotion to Bar Supervisor and Sommelier! From starting as a dedicated server and intern throughout all four years at the University of Delaware in hospitality management to returning full-time and completing an intensive Manager-in-Training program, Kyle has consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment and passion for the industry. This next step recognizes both his leadership and deepening expertise as he works toward his sommelier certification. We’re excited to see all he will accomplish in this new role!
