February 2025
Redding Rancheria had the incredible opportunity to be in Washington, D.C., during the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) State of the Indian Nations (SOIN) Address! This powerful event brings together tribal nations from across the United States to discuss
key issues, celebrate progress, and advocate for the future of Indian Country. The SOIN Address highlights the strength and resilience of tribal nations and sets the stage for important conversations with U.S. leaders.
A huge congratulations to our COO, Stacey Carman, for being honored with the “Silver Box” at the NCAI Women’s Luncheon! This prestigious recognition is awarded to women who make a significant impact by supporting and uplifting others. We are incredibly grateful for everything Stacey does for our tribal community—her leadership and dedication inspire us all!

Redding Rancheria proudly supports and sponsors the Go Redding Luncheon, empowering our community to prioritize heart health! We celebrate Maria Orozco, our shining star in PR, for receiving the “Heart of the Community” award, inspiring us all to strive for excellence! This event ignites a passion for women’s wellness, fostering a culture of care, support, and balance. Kudos to Lynnann Foster and her team for orchestrating this phenomenal event, ensuring its return this year! Here is to next year’s Go Red Luncheon!
On Thursday, February 13, 2025, the Redding Rancheria Head Start & Child Care teamed up with the Redding Rancheria Senior Nutrition Program for a heartwarming celebration. The special occasion? Valentine’s Day, of course! Because when something is done in the name of love, it’s always a worthy cause—especially when chocolate, hearts, and hugs are involved!
The children created heartfelt valentines and brought treats to share, while the seniors delighted everyone with homemade desserts. The room was filled with laughter, joy, and plenty of sweet moments. But beyond the goodies and giggles, this gathering was about something even more meaningful—the bond between generations.
We believe that our young children and elders bring tremendous value to each other. The wisdom, stories, and traditions of our seniors provide a strong foundation for the future, while the energy and curiosity of our children bring new light and joy to their elders. Moments like these remind us why it is so important to foster these connections— to build a better today and a brighter tomorrow.
And if there’s chocolate involved? Even better.
The Redding Rancheria Had a Claw-some Time at the One SAFE Place Shasta Crab Feed. From delicious crab and refreshing drinks to great company and lively fun, the One SAFE Place Shasta Crab Feed was an unforgettable evening!
We are proud to support this amazing event that not only brings the community together but also raises critical funds for such an important cause. A huge thank you to One SAFE Place for hosting and to everyone who joined us for a night filled with laughter, generosity, and, of course… ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT CRAB!
We are already looking forward to doing it all again next year!
The California Nations Indian Gaming Association (CNIGA) hosted the Western Indian Gaming Conference (WIGC) during the second week of February, bringing together leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss the evolving landscape of tribal gaming and governance.
This incredible event provided key updates on the state of California Tribal Nations, highlighting opportunities, challenges, and advancements within Indian Country. As a steadfast advocate for tribal sovereignty and economic self-sufficiency, CNIGA plays a crucial role in supporting 46 federally recognized Tribal Nations across California.
We deeply appreciate CNIGA’s dedication and tireless efforts in championing the interests of Indian Country. Their work not only strengthens tribal gaming enterprises but also fosters economic growth, self-determination, and cultural preservation for Native communities throughout the state.
The Wellness department held their annual Spread the Love Mini challenge. This challenge was created to recognize and celebrate Valentine’s Day and because of that we have this challenge in February! Employees are encouraged to take pictures with the Wellness Heart and submit their photos to the Wellness Department for a chance to win a prize. Three prizes will be awarded through a drawing of names.
This is a very easy going challenge that has employee’s get a group of coworkers, pick up a Wellness Heart, and head outside to take a walk! Walking daily improves cardiovascular fitness, boosts mood, allows you to refocus when you return to work, and helps manage weight. Walking with others also encourages interaction and strengthens relationships among coworkers, fostering a sense of community. Despite the rain during this two-week challenge, we had a total of 91 employees who enjoyed participating!
