First Destination Data Each year Career Services collects first destination data for all College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate students. Data is collected utilizing several methods including, but not limited to, in-class surveys, email campaigns, individual department exit interviews/surveys and digital research. Activities Overview • Maintained the Arts & Sciences Online Resume Book • Met with Arts and Sciences students throughout each semester to help with job search, resume writing, interviewing skills, and other career-related issues • Conducted numerous mock interviews with Arts and Sciences students to better prepare them for real interviews • Surveyed all capstone classes, gathering post-graduation information from 857 graduating seniors • Consistently updated bulletin boards with information regarding career fairs, on-campus interviews, recruiting, career planning workshops, and career & internship opportunities • Presented information about Career Services and other career planning topics to various student organizations • Posted jobs on Handshake and emailed the job openings to students as they were posted • Shared information about workshops, career fairs, full-time and internship opportunities with students via email, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn • Updated College of Arts & Sciences web page on HIREsooner.com that lists specific information for humanities and sciences majors • Developed, publicized, and presented specialized job search workshops for A&S majors on various topics including Professional Dress, Interviewing, Dining Etiquette, and How to Find a Job in a Tough Economy • Spoke to approximately 66 classes and student organizations / 1,960 students about Career Services • Set up information tables in various buildings around campus as part of a new initiative, CAS Outreach Day, to raise awareness about Career Services • Built stronger relationships with College of Arts & Sciences faculty and staff through classroom visits, consistent updates on upcoming events and job openings for students, and presentations to clubs and organizations • Worked with academic advisors to ensure they know what Career Services has available and how to utilize those services • Attended fall and spring College of Arts and Sciences Networking Receptions following career fairs
