Students enjoyed a welldeserved Christmas break to enjoy with their families

Thanks to the RJC team, we had a 100% return rate and we are Ranking at the #16 position in the Nation. To start the new year, our Students enjoyed an afternoon with inflatables, music and lots of fun. That’s how you start the New Years!!

Gabriel Perez Continues his career at North Texas Job Corps Center

We congratulate our graduate from the Automotive Mechanics workshop; Gabriel Perez in his desire to continue learning, the young native from the town of Lares, Puerto Rico decided to apply for Airframe Power Plant Mechanic- Advanced Training Program in the center of North Texas where he was transfered and is already taking his first classes. We at RJC wish him much success in his career.

Success Story

Antwone Román, 18, is a participant in the Youth in School program of our Local Area - Conexion Laboral Noroeste.

In May 2021, Antwone visited the offices of (Conexion Laboral Noroeste), interested in receiving service. During the initial interview, Antwone shared thathisAcademicProgressreportwasdeficientinbasicskillsandthathehad to repeatthetenthgrade. Ourteam identifiedspecific skillswherethe youth needed reinforcement. Antwone successfully participated in a work experienceactivity,whichprovideddirectlinksbetweenacademiclearningand joblearning

His story doesn’t end there. Thankstothefollow-upeffortsof our staff, we realized that Antwone did not returned to school. Quickly, we orientated him on the importance of completing his secondary educationandreferredhimtothe Ramey Job Corps Center of Aguadilla. Antwone enrolled in Job Corps in the Auto mechanic Trade and resumed his high schoolstudies.

In September of 2022, Antwone met all the necessary requirementsandearnedhisHigh School Diploma and Auto Mechanic Technician Certificate Today, the young man is in the process of fulfilling his dream of workingasamechanic.

Thatiswhatourworkisallabout. To give our fellow citizens the necessary tools to open the way towardsthatlong-awaitedfuture. To open channels of communicationbetweenworkers and employers, to create connections that promote the economic development of our regionandPuertoRico.

Ramey Opens a Basketball Court

Our students can now enjoy their newly renovated basketball court. Physical activity is important for overall health, and at Ramey Job Corps we encourage our young people to stay active and healthy

We thank the Department of Residential Life for coordinating the visit of Mr. Carlos Gonzalez Nieves, Manager of the “Gigantes de Carolina” team, who donated his time and knowledge to offer basketball clinic orientation to our students.

District Representative; Eladio Cardona visit our campus. It is important that our representatives in the state government know about the program and promote our services to the youth in the Island

During the past year 2022, Ramey Job Corps reached an important collaboration agreement with the Colorado Department of Correction. This agreement benefits the students of the Homeland Security, Nursing and Culinary Arts workshop. Interested students are orientated of the process by a recruiter who visit the center and if they successfully pass the admission exam, they get to move to Colorado for their Training Academy. Once they successfully complete it, they begin their professional career.

Our first student to be recruited was Owen Nuñez, a 20-year-old who completed the Culinary Arts workshop in December. Owen is going to be excelling in the kitchen area. We congratulate this young man for having successfully completed the training and we wish him the best of success in his professional life.

RJC PARTICIPATES IN "LA BOVEDA DE TELE ONCE"

LUMA COLLEGE FOR TECHNICALTRAINING

During the month of January, we had the opportunity to participate in the television game show, "La Bóveda de Tele Once". This family orientated program, is broadcast daily and our students represented the Center with their participation. It was a fun filled day for them.

Extracurricular activities foster the social development of young people. An extracurricular activity allows you to live with a group of people with diverse interests, with which we can learn from each other, work as a team and create personal bonds. P.O

During the past year RJC has been working to achieve a collaboration agreement with LUMA Energy. This MOU represents a great opportunity for our students, if they join the company's workforce they have the opportunity to benefit from the Apprenticeship Program and advance in their professional career. As part of the agreement, Ramey students will have the opportunity to help in the rebuilding efforts of the island electrical system after an natural disasters event

Thanks to our management team, we carried out a collaboration Mr. Jaime Martinez, our Program Director, students from the Advanced Workshop on Solar Panels, Devon Smith and Luis Lugo participated in an activity at the Palo Seco Power Plant, in San Juan where they had the experience of sharing with company employees who successfully completed the Apprentice Program. “ LUMA Apprentership Rodeo”

This activity inspired and motivated them to join the workforce once they finish their workshop.
