Our center is opening new facilities for its vocational workshops. After months of waiting, our guys finally enjoy fully remodeled workshops equipped with the highest technology.

Ranking #2 in the Nation Ramey Job Corps was fulfilled with the news that our Center is Ranking # 2 in the Nation.

Ramey, is a Blessed Center that has a dedicated and resilient Team. Despite the challenges they always overcome to ensure that our students receive a quality Education and achieve their Goals.

Captain Navarro and Major Pace from the ARMY Reserve were giving a motivational talk to our students. The youths had the opportunity to hear how it is possible to achieve everything they set out to do with determination and effort.

In addition, a group of 43 students interested in a military career were taking the ASVAB. Mr. Reinat, Career Selection Coordinator, and Mr. Gabriel Soto, Case Evaluator Manager, worked to make this possible.

At Ramey Job Corps we work every day so that our students have access to opportunities and experiences that enrich their lives and help them achieve their goals.

RAMEY JOB CORPS participated in an activity for the community after more than two years. The hurricane, the earthquakes and the restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic had not allowed our students and Staff to participate in community activities. Recently ARMY Reserve asked us to participate in the planting of 50 trees on Ramey Base’s Cliff Street as part of a reforestation project. On March 1 st, 2022 a group of students had the opportunity to participate in this activity. It was an enriching experience and our youths were the pioneers of the reestablishment of Job Corps at the service of their community. Congratulations Guys!

One of the benefits offered by Job Corps is the opportunity to finish high school in a short time.

Several of our students were taking the GED test to earn their diploma and continue on their path to success. Good luck!

The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed our lives. During the last two years we have witnessed an event that marked a before and after. Little by little we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and we are hoping to return to a normal life where we can hug each other again. Ramey Job Corps is committed to promoting safe spaces for all. In coordination with Puerto Rico Medical College we held a vaccination fair and COVID Tests administered by CDC personnel. Students, employees and the community of Ramey said present and benefited from the activity.

RAMEY JOB CORPS ROMANTIC FOOD TRUCK LUNCH Traditionally on February 14 we celebrate the day of love and friendship.

At Ramey Job Corps we had a “Romantic Food Truck Lunch” where several merchants delighted us with their rich food menu. Our staff and students enjoyed a different kind of lunch on our patio where there was also music and the Culinary Arts workshop students treated us to delicious healthy cookies.

New Agreements For The Benefit Of Our Students Ramey Job Corps is constantly on the lookout for the best opportunities for our students. Two MOU’s were recently signed that will offer excellent work experiences to graduates of the Homeland Security and Culinary Arts Workshop who wish to work outside the island.

Orange Hospitality Group is an agency that provides the opportunity to work in resorts in several States to graduates of the Culinary Arts Workshop.

On the other hand, the Colorado State Department of Corrections has already finalized the agreement to hire our students from the Homeland Security Workshop. Both employers offer competitive salaries and excellent benefits to those who wish to take advantage of this opportunity.

It is worth nothing that GE Aviation began talks to reach an agreement that would offer Mechanic Students the opportunity to move to New Hampshire to work in one of its factories were they can develop a career in the aerospace sector.

It was a different afternoon that reminded us of the joy that comes from sharing with friends.

Steps to develop new alliances Ramey Job Corps works everyday in search of new opportunities for our students and also in making the program accessible to the youth of the community. We were recently visited by the Representative from Moca Aguadilla, Wilson Roman. The meeting discussed alliances that can be established with different government agencies so that Job Corps is considered an excellent educational alternative for young people.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Senator Vargas Vidot receives Job Corps in his office in the Capitol Admissions Staff and the BCL had a meeting with Senator.

Senator Vargas Vidot directs the Office of Community Initiatives in the Senate of Puerto Rico. The meeting was aimed at establishing liaisons with organizations that serve the population that can benefit from the Job Corps Program. The Senator is very interested in supporting all initiatives that benefit young people and guarantee them a future in which they develop their abilities.

TRAINING FOR OUR STUDENTS:CPR & ServSAFE At RJCC we train our students to be professionals of excellence. In addition to the certificate in their technical career, they obtain certifications related to their profession that enable them to do excellent work.

Recently our Culinary Arts students received the ServSafe workshop that trains them to carry out proper food handling. Similarly, the students of the Solar Panel Workshop received the CPR workshop that trains them to offer first aid in an emergency.
