CFB26

The team draft is right around the corner... who will you choose?
When it comes to college football style, helmets are the crown jewels of a program’s identity. We took a deep dive into which teams bring the heat in the helmet department. Whether it’s chrome finishes, vintage throwbacks, or bold new designs, there are countless teams with amazing fits to choose from. I undoubtedly missed many of them, even while I put this together I stumbled over some amazing teams that probably should be high on this list.. Memphis, Louisville, Kentucky, Buffalo, and many others. but for now, let’s dive in to these seven programs that offer some interesting options to choose from to begin your ‘26 dynasty.
*ALL HELMETS SHOWN
The Mountaineers have always been quietly ahead of the curve when it comes to uniform innovation, and their CFB 26 helmet selection reflects that legacy. Despite having just six helmet options, each one offers something worthwhile. The staples — navy, gold, and white — are executed with polish, while a new black alternate adds a darker, more aggressive tone to the rotation. While fans will need to wait for the newly revealed anniversary edition helmet to arrive in-game, the current lineup captures West Virginia’s balance of tradition and experimentation. Small in number, big in impact.
No list is complete without the Ducks. Nobody experiments quite like Oregon, and in CFB 25, they bring an unmatched quantity with 24 helmet options in total. Chrome and matte variants exist for nearly every design, from highlighter yellows to stealthy blackouts. Players can mix and match to create a dizzying number of combos, giving Oregon one of the most versatile setups in the game. That said, the in-game visuals don’t fully capture the realworld brilliance and texture that makes Oregon’s gear so iconic — a slight knock for a team known for aesthetic perfection. Still, if customization is your thing, the Ducks remain elite.
ASU brings heat in every sense of the word with a robust lineup of 19 helmets that span their color spectrum — white, maroon, gold, and even chrome. The variety is impressive, with designs ranging from clean minimalist styles to bold statements like the maroonto-black gradient helmet set to debut in the 2026 update. Some fans might find that one polarizing, but it’s impossible to ignore the creativity. You’ll find helmets featuring the classic trident logo as well as full-on Sparky decals, letting players tailor their look to match their playstyle. Arizona State doesn’t just bring options — they bring identity.
TCU’s nine helmet options might not win a numbers battle, but the Frogs more than make up for it in quality and execution. Their signature deep purple is stunning in-game, complemented by slick black and pristine white options. Chrome finishes push the presentation further, giving each helmet a big-game feel. Wordmark designs and the iconic horned frog logo offer enough visual variety to keep things fresh, while still honoring the brand. TCU’s helmets hit the sweet spot — stylish, tough, and unmistakably Horned Frog. They’re knocking on the door of the top three, and with a few more additions, could break through next year.
Minnesota takes the bronze medal with one of the most complete and underrated helmet sets in the entire game. With 23 options to choose from, the Golden Gophers offer modern flair, throwback nods, and a chrome variant for every primary color. The showstealer? The newer “Goldy” designs, which feature a lovable yet fierce gopher graphic. The maroon and gold classics still hold strong, but it’s the clean white sets and unexpected versatility that really elevate Minnesota. Who knew the Twin Cities were hiding a helmet empire?
Tulane turns heads at No. 2 — and for good reason. With only 9 helmets in total, this might be a shocking spot to find the Green Wave. The base options in teal, green, and white are sharp, but it’s the four throwback helmets that elevate Tulane to elite status. These retro beauties harken back to forgotten eras of college football and feel like living history on the field. The unique wave logo and sleak color palette give Tulane an identity unlike any other in the game. If you’re a fan of vintage flair and bold personality, the Green Wave might just become your new dynasty squad.
Topping our list is a surprise heavyweight: Kent State. With a staggering 27 helmet options, the Golden Flashes offer an unmatched variety that rivals even the powerhouses. Whether you're looking for navy, gold, white, or black — Kent State’s got it, and in every combination imaginable. Their set includes lightning bolts, bold script logos, sharp decals, and minimalist alternates. It's a masterclass in helmet diversity. What Kent State lacks in national spotlight, they make up for with sheer creativity and depth. Quietly, they’ve built a customization empire — and in CFB 25, they’re officially the helmet kings.
