Need for Speed: Cliff Ware & Rashad Christianson
Cliff Ware's journey from the streets of Baton Rouge to becoming a four-star running back recruit is nothing short of extraordinary. At 5'11" and 191 pounds, Ware may not have the massive frame of some of his peers, but what he lacks in size, he more than makes up for with speed, agility, and vision Known for his ability to make defenders miss in the open field, Ware’s combination of quickness and elusiveness has drawn comparisons to some of the game ’ s top playmakers
Born and raised in Louisiana, Cliff’s love for football was instilled early, as both his father and uncle had played the game at a high level. His high school career at Baton Rouge High was a showcase of his potential, as he racked up over 1,500 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns in his junior season alone. Known for his explosiveness, Ware could take any carry to the house, weaving through traffic and leaving defenders grasping at air.
By the time his senior year arrived, Ware was one of the most sought-after prospects in the country While many assumed he would stay close to home and play for LSU or one of the state’s other major programs, Cliff had other ideas. He wanted to carve his own path, and after visits to a few schools, he committed to Colorado State.
Now, with his commitment to Colorado State officially in the books, Cliff Ware is poised to make an impact on a national stage. He may have surprised some by choosing the Rams, but for Ware, it’s the perfect opportunity to prove that he’s one of the best — no matter where he plays.
Rashad Christianson, a three-star back from Florida, will join Cliff in his journey to the Big 12. At 5'9", the undersized back lives his life with a chip on his shoulder. He was a blur, a flash of determination and raw talent, and in his senior year of high school, he had become the pride of Westwood Academy.
From a young age, Rashad had always been fast. His mother, a former sprinter, often joked that he had inherited her legs. On the field, he was a force to be reckoned with, darting past defenders like they were standing still. By the end of the season, he had racked up an impressive number of touchdowns, catching the eye of college scouts from across the country
In a recent presser, the 3 year head coach, Quacks, explained how they envision these two backs as the centerpiece of their offense. "We need someone who can make things happen out of nothing, Rashad and Cliff both have that spark we are missing. We want to bring that to Fort Collins."
As the summer melts into fall, and the new recruits plan their moves to Fort Collins, the next few months will prove pivotal for the young backs collegiate careers With the crisp air signaling the changing of the seasons, Ware and Christianson await the opportunity to become a Colorado State legends.
