ANNUAL INTER-HOUSE ATHLETICS MEET:-

Austin Cops Championship For fifth Successive 'I ear. This year our annu al Inter -House Athle tics Meeting was held o n t h e Queen's Colle ge ground on Thursday. 18th M arch. Even though t he dawn of Sports Day was not glor ious and r a in clou d s appear ed in the sky w e had q uite a fine day. It is w ith · deep re.gret that we , r ing our readers the sad news of tlie death of two dedicated Jld B011s' of Queen's College. One took place within a week of the other, the first being on tht 12th and the other on the 15tl, of March.

Pour days after the announcement of the death of Captain ,1 (./1' ,t~. the news was n leased tlwt Mr. H ti b er t C h a P 1ll a n Edu:ards died of a heart attack. He w as 77. Mr. Ch a Pm an Edwards was a member of Raleigh H ouse while at school. He has spent 53 out of his 77

While travelling along he Eact Bank Road together with another of ficer of the Guyana DefenceForce, Captain Rame"'h Narin" was seriously injured after the car had run off the road and toppled over. After being rushed to the St. J oseph's Mercy Hospital and later air-dashed to Trinidad, the G.D.F. officer, who wa ~ only recently p romoted from Lieutenant to acting C'.l.ptain, passed away, despi te the desperate efforts to save his Jife. HP was twenty-three years old and .vas the twenty-third road death •ictim of the year .

years being organist of Christ Church. This dedication to an d love of music earned him the title of MBE in 1963 and later made him an Honorary Member of the Trinity College of Music. Congratulations The s tork vi.sited the home bf Mr. and Mrs. Ronald J'onas early in March and ha s left a pretty little baby girl. She is the first child of the couple who married nearly a year ago. Mr. Jonas is a master on our staff - a man respected by a ll and noted for his uprightness and his efficiency in organisa tion.
