STUDENT · Godfrey, Gumbs, entered Queen's College in September 1964 from Chatam High School after securing seven passes at the G.C.E. '0' level Examination: Not at all a very impressive student from the start, the unasisuming bespectacled youth set to . work with utter assiduity. During his two year 'A' le'vel course, Gumbs' pose, a student with his head bent over .thick text.books for thirty nine out C1f. forty minutes, was a familiar ~ght, not only at the back of our Auditorium but also in several form rooms. Meet the New Teachers At the start of this academic year, Queen's welcomed nin,e new masters. As usual the ·Lictor brings its readers pen pich.rres of these new teachers. Mr Cha.:rles Nathaniel Agard is quite an experienced person, since he has been teaching for over forty years now. He attended De Willem Anglican School wh~re h e won a Primary Sholarship. He then went to Berbice High School up to 1922, during which time he passed the Preliminary, Jun·or an<l Senior Cambridge Examination with remarkable pe{rformances in English Language, Latin and French. Agard, who then branched off to work, has had a wide experience in the teaching profession.
