4.2.5 The internal temperature of the laboratory will be constantly maintained by a functioning heating/cooling ventilation system. The system will be fitted with filters to ensure external contamination is not introduced to the laboratory.

4.2.5.1 Filters will be replaced at least quarterly.

4.2.5.2 The ventilation system will be arranged in such a way as to prevent crosscontamination from incompatible activities and/or departments.

4.2.5.3 Certain environments within the laboratory will have the room temperature monitored and recorded to ensure the temperature does not affect testing.

4.2.5.3.1 Room temperatures to be recorded will be listed on LF2001 Temperature Log Sheet. See LP2001 Temperature Monitoring for procedures regarding the monitoring and recording of temperatures.

4.3 General Housekeeping

4.3.1 All personnel are responsible for general housekeeping of their work areas. Personnel are also responsible for cleaning after themselves in common areas such as lunchroom Housekeeping policies can be found in LP3002 Chemical Hygiene Plan and Safety Manual Section II: General Laboratory Safety

4 3 2 Purity will contract a janitorial service to provide basic cleaning services with instructions on what they are to clean

4 3 3 In areas of the laboratory needing biological sterility or specific cleaning processes, procedures addressing this will be written In some cases, the cleaning must be documented

4 3 4 Purity will utilize a pest control company to aid with the control of unwanted pests

4.3.4.1 The pest control company will perform an inspection at least monthly and provide a report of inspection.

4.3.4.2 Reports from the pest control company will be kept in a book maintained by the pest control company.

4.3.4.3 Laboratory personnel are to notify management if any pests are noticed. Laboratory personnel are to follow all housekeeping policies to avoid attracting any pests.

5.1 The Quality Department will ensure that all environmental conditions are clearly defined in procedures and test methods and that all tests were performed within specified conditions.
