9.1.1 In order to ensure air and filter quality, air plates will set out every day twice per day. An air plate will be placed in the general Microbiological Lab.

9.1.2 A biological indicator will be run along with every cycle the autoclave is run. The indicator that will be used is Bacillus stearothermophilus. This will be documented via LF3004

9.1.3 A positive control will be ran along with every batch of samples on pathogenic test methods. This is to ensure the test method was executed properly.

9.1.4 Two controls will be ran along with every batch of samples on all test methods. This is to ensure the media, broths and supplies used are properly sterilized. One will be to monitor sterility, the other will be to monitor growth.
