She is an expert in Security, History of Technology in the XXth Century and European Integration. Ramón Torrent Macau Degree and Ph.D. in Law (University of Barcelona, Spain). He has an extensive career as a Professor of Political Economy at the University of Barcelona. He was Associate Professor at the University of Paris-IV and Visiting Professor at the University of Bologna, campus of Buenos Aires. From 1988 to 1998 he was member of the Legal Services of the Council of the European Union, and Director of Foreign Economic Relations therein from 1994 to 1998.
