WELCOME, WILDCATS! Ah, summer in Ellensburg. We’re soaking up the sunshine, reflecting on the past year, and looking forward to the upcoming one at Central Washington University. After the excitement of spring quarter events and commencement, a quiet calm spread over campus. However, that didn’t last long! Summer quarter bustles with activity as students complete classes, visitors fill the SURC for conferences and retreats, new Wildcats attend Orientations, and staff members begin prepping for big fall events like Homecoming Week and Convocation. In this issue of Hype, we want to get you connected. From an inside look at the SURC’s diverse array of departments to a sneak peek at some of fall quarter’s hottest events, we’re giving you the scoop on student life at CWU. Whether you are a returning student or a first-time visitor, enjoy browsing the pages of this inaugural summer edition of Hype. Afterwards, we hope you’ll go beyond these pages to connect with us on social media. Share your favorite events and experiences with us, and use Hype as a tool to stay in-the-know about campus events. We can’t wait to connect with you! – Your Hype Team
