Sacmi RobotCasting, new investment for Gruppo Sanitari Italia With the supply of two Sacmi RobotCasting cells, GSI (Gruppo Sanitari Italia) further consolidates its position in the industry for the production of high quality, top design ceramic sanitaryware. Part of an ambitious investment plan in Sacmi technology, the new supply includes two AVM casting machines and related demoulding robots, to expand the potential production capacity of the plant at Gallese (Viterbo), leading manufacturer

in Italy and around the world, renowned for its quality “Italian made” bathroom design and sanitaryware. Performance, reliability, flexibility. With these three key concepts, Sacmi’s AVM casting cell has won over the market on an international scale thanks to the advantages of the modular platform which makes the mould the central part of the process and gives the customer maximum freedom as regards control of automation and auxiliary equipment. The supply is a guarantee for GSI, which has invested in this technology since 2003. With more than 250 AVMs installed throughout the globe, this solution has become the leading system for the production of complex WCs. The entire production cycle is carried out in stages which can be programmed to allow maximum customization of all the production variables, thus reducing product change-over times. With this supply, there are now 12 Sacmi high pressure casting machines in operation at GSI including, in addition to the AVMs, several ADM, ADS and AVI machines. Other than the Sacmi RobotCasting solutions, the company has also invested in the automation of the handling-glazing line, already completed with Sacmi technology in order to achieve 4.0 control of production flow and handling operations. ◆

Eriez® appoints Managing Director for Eriez-Germany Eriez® President and CEO Lukas Guenthardt has announced the company has selected Eric Adams to serve as Managing Director for the company’s newly established Eriez Deutschland GmbH, based in Recklinghausen, Germany. In his new role, Adams will lead efforts to increase Eriez’ presence throughout central Europe, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Guenthardt says, “Eric has been working closely with our executive team at Eriez-Europe to craft and execute a comprehensive business plan that addresses the needs of the German market.” He adds, “We recognize that this area of Europe is far too important to properly serve via an independent agent or distributor and, therefore, requires a direct and constant presence in the form of Eriez-Germany, guided by the strong leadership of Eric.” Adams will report to Eriez’ Vice-PresidentInternational Jaisen Kohmuench. “Eric’s

three decades of experience in technical sales of capital equipment has been integral to the ramp up of EriezGermany,” says Kohmuench. He adds, “Eric is already proving to be a tremendous asset to the company, and we are fortunate to have him on our team.” Adams started his career as a sales engineer supporting deep drilling and mining support systems. Prior to that, he worked for Fördertechnik and Noell Service und Maschinentechnik, a provider of microtunnel technology. He continued in this area, eventually becoming a sales executive at Herrenknecht AG. More recently he served as General Sales Manager of Steinert Elektromagnetbau and then Managing Director of H+E Logistik, a subsidiary of Herrenknecht AG, a manufacturer of belt conveyor systems for tunnel construction. Eriez is recognized as the world authority in separation technologies.

The company’s magnetic separation, metal detection, material handling, fluid recycling and advanced flotation technologies have application in the mining, processing, packaging, food, recycling, aggregate, plastics and metalworking industries.
