Siamo lieti che la partecipazione degli espositori a entrambi gli spettacoli sia stata la più alta negli anni”. In termini di presenze, crescita significativa di acquirenti in arrivo
da Giappone, Myanmar, Filippine, Vietnam, Cambogia, Iran e Turchia. Durante gli show, l’HKTDC ha commissionato sondaggi per misurare il grado di soddisfazione di espositori e buyer, raccogliendo un atteggiamento di ottimismo rispetto agli ordini e alle vendite. In prima fila tra le preferenze, i gioielli contemporanei (83%), seguiti da gioielli per matrimoni e occasioni speciali (76%), gioielli di design (73%) e gioielli preziosi (71%). Quanto ai materiali, si classifica primo l’oro rosa, seguito dall’oro bianco e dal platino. Il diamante resta il prediletto tra le gemme, seguito dalla giada, dall’acquamarina e dalle perle. L’HKTDC ha inoltre organizzato una serie di eventi, tra cui una tavola rotonda sul futuro delle pratiche commerciali etiche nell’industria della gioielleria, moderata dal Responsible Jewellery Council.
SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN BUYERS FOR HKTDC Record number of visitors for the twin shows organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council: about 87 thousand buyers present at the fifth Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show (27 February 273 March) dedicated to raw materials and the 35th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show (1-5 March) focused on finished jewellery. “With the improvement of global economic conditions, Hong Kong’s precious jewellery exports increased by 3.6% last year” - said Benjamin Chau, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director -. We are pleased that exhibitors’ participation in both shows has been the highest in the years”. In terms of attendance, there was a significant increase in buyers coming from Japan, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Iran and Turkey. During the shows, the HKTDC commissioned surveys to measure the satisfaction of exhibitors and buyers, which revealed an attitude of optimism with respect to orders and sales. Preferences were shown above all for contemporary jewellery (83%), followed by jewellery for weddings and special occasions (76%), design jewellery (73%) and precious jewellery (71%). As for the materials, rose gold was classified first, followed by white gold and platinum. The diamond remains the favourite among the gems, followed by jade, aquamarine and pearls. The HKTDC also organised a series of events, including a round table on the future of ethical business practices in the jewellery industry, moderated by the Responsible Jewellery Council.
