TURISMO & NEGOCIOS Inicia proyecto de mejora a infraestructura del Aeropuerto Guanacaste

$100 millones de dólares para construir y ampliar la pista de aterrizaje, el área de maniobras y algunas obras conexas.

Con el objetivo de aumentar la capacidad operativa del Aeropuerto Internacional Daniel Oduber Quirós, este año iniciará el proyecto de construcción de la pista de aterrizaje, área de maniobras y obras conexas.

Este proyecto es parte del Plan Nacional de Desarrollo que definió el Gobierno de la República e incluye una inversión estimada de $100 millones de dólares, su ejecución se financiará con un 50% de fondos proveniente del presupuesto nacional; el 40% lo aportará el Instituto Costarricense de Turismo y el restante 10% con fondos de financiamiento externo como parte del programa presupuestario del Consejo Técnico de Aviación Civil.

tantes merecen instalaciones amplias, seguras. Queremos ofrecer condiciones óptimas para las aerolíneas, para el turista y que su experiencia de visita incremente el turismo, con efectos positivos para Guanacaste”, señaló Rodrigo Chaves Robles, presidente de la República.

La obra se desarrollará en tres años. Durante 2023 se obtendrán los procesos de financiamiento, de licitación, de adjudicación y la pre-ejecución. Para el año 2024 iniciará la ejecución en un 45% y en el 2025 concluirá la obra.

El desarrollo tendrá cuatro etapas. La fase 1 incluye instalaciones auxiliares, el acopio de material y la reconstrucción de la plataforma ejecutiva. La fase 2 permitirá la construcción de la pista de contingencia, el movimiento de tierras y la rehabilitación de calles de rodaje. La fase 3 incluye la rehabilitación y ampliación de la pista 7-25; además de la instalación del sistema de aproximación por instrumentos CAT I. Con la fase 4 el remate y desmonte de instalaciones auxiliares para finalizar la obra.

In order to increase the operational capacity of the Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport, the project to build the runway, maneuvering area, and related works will begin this year.

This project is part of the National Development Plan defined by the Government of the Republic and includes an estimated investment of $100 million dollars, its execution will be financed with 50% of funds from the national budget; 40% will be contributed by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute and the remaining 10% with external financing funds as part of the budget program of the Technical Council of Civil Aviation.

The work will be developed in three years. During 2023, the financing, bidding, awarding, and pre-execution processes will be completed. By 2024, 45% of the execution will begin and in 2025 the work will be completed.

The development will have four phases. Phase 1 includes auxiliary facilities, material stockpiling, and reconstruction of the executive platform. Phase 2 will allow for the construction of the contingency runway, earthworks, and taxiway rehabilitation. Phase 3 includes the rehabilitation and extension of runways 7-25 and the installation of the CAT I instrument approach system. Phase 4 includes the finishing touches and dismantling of auxiliary facilities to complete the work.
