EDITORIAL EDITORIAL

Dearestcolleagues:

After the first quarter of 2025, we can report that we have once again had a very good start to the year, thanks to the efforts and dedication of all of you, for which I would like to extend my sincere congratulations on behalf of the Plastek Group.

The inauguration of the new U.S. president brought with it the whole issue of the new U.S. trade policy, which seeks to punish with tariffs the products that enter the country from any part of the world, including Mexico. This has generated a growing uncertainty as the days go by and there are no clear and documented definitions of how these tariffs will be applied here in Mexico in the different business sectors of the country.

There is a trade agreement in force between Canada, the United States and Mexico, the renewal of which was signed during the previous administration of President Trump, which establishes the rules of trade between the three countries and which the new administration of the American president seems to be monitoring before its formal review in 2027.

Mexico has been cautious in its responses and has so far handled this situation with intelligence, which is not surprising since the U.S. is by far our most important export market and a fundamental pillar of our economy. Let us hope that in the next 90 days we will be able to understand the implications of this new American trade policy and that Mexico will be able to weather this trade storm.

For Plastek de México, as for the vast majority of the Mexican manufacturing sector, the American market represents a very important part of its sales, both directly and indirectly, as our customers send products with components manufactured by us.

These are chaotic times we are living in, but I am confident that we will know how to adapt to the new market conditions and we will navigate this storm as we have done in the past, survive and prosper for many years to come.

EDITORIAL EDITORIAL

15 YEARS ANNIVERSARY

“La Candelaria” in Plastek, A

Moment of Union and Joy

Candlemas Day has arrived, presenting an opportunity to engage in a celebration characterized by tradition, flavor, and, above all, camaraderie. On this day, we convened to partake in a traditional meal of tamales and atole, two dishes that enhanced the experience. Candlemas Day provided an excellent opportunity for employees to take a break and share a moment together, allowing them to unwind and enjoy each other's company away from the daily chores.

These events not only provide an opportunity to enjoy traditional cuisine, but also serve to strengthen the bonds among all members of the Plastek community. The joy of sharing a day like this strengthens our ties as a team, fostering a more cohesive and enjoyable work environment.

We would like to thank all the collaborators who joined the celebration and those who made this Candlemas Day a success. Thank you for being part of the Plastek Family!

Forklift Training: Improving Safety and Internal Development

The safety and development of human talent are fundamental pillars in our daily operations, as they represent our commitment to the well-being of our team and the continuous improvement of their capabilities.

In line with this commitment, we recently conducted a course on safe forklift operation, specifically for our forklift operators. The objective of the course was to strengthen their knowledge and skills in the proper handling of this essential machinery. By promoting safer and more efficient work environments for all, we aim to create a positive work environment for our employees and partners.

Ramiro Álvarez, one of our esteemed collaborators, led this course. Mr. Álvarez recently obtained his certification in the DC5 standard, which accredits him as a competent instructor in the safe operation of forklifts.

This significant accomplishment exemplifies Plastek's commitment to professional excellence and internal growth opportunities.

This training equipped the forklift operators with the essential tools to operate the equipment more safely and efficiently, thereby reinforcing the company's commitment to risk prevention in the work environment.

At Plastek, we value and strongly support this type of initiative, which fosters the continuous development of our team and consolidates our values of safety, excellence, and commitment.

Small actions, big changes: Plastek's commitment to environmental responsibility is unwavering.

At Plastek, we are committed to environmental sustainability, and we are dedicated to driving positive change from within our organization. To that end, we have initiated the implementation of incremental daily actions that, when aggregated, will have a substantial impact.

One of the first initiatives we have adopted is to bring our own reusable utensils to work: thermos, glass, cup, and spoon. This simple practice has the potential to reduce consumption of plastics and single-use disposables, thereby helping us to reduce our ecological footprint in the place where we spend most of our time: our workspace.

Each employee who joins this initiative is demonstrating that change is not dependent on grand gestures, but rather on the will to do things differently, more consciously and responsibly.

At Plastek, we recognize the importance of environmental stewardship as a shared and ongoing responsibility. We are confident that our actions will motivate more individuals within and outside the company to participate in this initiative. This is due to the fact that environmental actions have a significant impact. At Plastek, we are committed to making a positive impact.

Real change starts with us in the little things we do every day.

Life in the Digital Era:

Do You Master It or Let It Take Over?

Technology has completely transformed the way we live, work, and interact. In today's highly connected world, we have immediate access to information and tools that facilitate our daily lives. However, the challenge lies not only in leveraging technology, but also in discerning its optimal benefits and the point at which it might begin to overwhelm us.

Ally or Distraction?

Achievedigitalequilibrium.

To ensure that technology is utilized to our advantage, rather than the reverse, it is imperative to cultivate conscious use habits. To achieve this objective, please consider the following recommendations:

While technology has the potential to enhance productivity and learning, it can also act as a constant distraction. In the workplace, it helps us optimize tasks, improve communication, and access real-time data. In our personal lives, it facilitates connections with loved ones and offers a wide range of entertainment and educational opportunities. We must determine whether we are fully leveraging this opportunity or if it is having an excessive impact on us.

Sets disconnection times:

Establish disconnection times: It is important to avoid excessive use of digital devices and to set aside specific times to be present without digital distractions.

Prioritize valuable content:

It is essential to prioritize tools and platforms that facilitate both personal and professional growth.

Life in the Digital Era:

Do You Master It or Let It Take Over?

Be a role model: If you have children, set an example for them by demonstrating how to use technology in a balanced way.

Encourages dialogue: Please discuss the potential risks and benefits of technology with your family. This is an opportunity to establish trust and encourage learning.

Spend

time without screens:

It is essential to identify activities that strengthen personal relationships and promote emotional well-being.

Reflect

on your relationship

with technology

The digital world is here to stay, and its impact on our lives depends on how we manage it. We must consider whether technology is being used to improve our quality of life or if it is instead taking away our time and energy. The key is to take control and transform it into an ally, without allowing it to overtake us.

Maximize the benefits of the digital age to achieve a competitive advantage. It is essential to strike a balance between leveraging technology to enhance your own wellbeing and that of the people around you.

Take control of technology, before it takes control of you.

Brigaders enhance their professional competencies at the “Posta Hidalgo” Training Center.

As part of our commitment to personnel safety and preparedness, our emergency brigade members participated in an intensive training day at the Posta Hidalgo Training Center on March 1, 2025.

This experience enabled them to enhance their knowledge and skills in emergency response, ensuring a more effective and coordinated response in risk situations.

During the session, the brigadistas received advanced training in fire management and confined space rescue, overseen by highly trained instructors.

Simulations were carried out under controlled conditions, allowing participants to face real scenarios and apply safety protocols with greater confidence and skill.

This training reinforces our company's commitment to the safety and well-being of all, ensuring that we have a team prepared to act in case of an emergency.

Brigaders

enhance their professional competencies at the “Posta Hidalgo” Training Center.

Safety is a fundamental pillar in our company, and having well-prepared brigade members is key to prevent and respond adequately to any eventuality. The training program encompassed specialized modules on the use of emergency response equipment, fire management, rescue operations in confined spaces, and immediate first aid. Through simulations in controlled conditions, the participants put into practice the protocols learned, which allowed them to gain confidence and improve their response time to real emergencies.

We encourage more collaborators to join this team, as safety is a shared responsibility.

The presence of a greater number of trained brigadistas will enable us to maintain our efforts to create a safer environment for all. The presence of a greater number of trained brigadistas will enable us to maintain our efforts to create a safer environment for all.

We will continue to promote initiatives that strengthen our safety culture, as being prepared can make a difference.

Always remember: at Plastek, we care about your safety.

SUCH A SPRAIN!!!!!

What is a sprain, and how can it be prevented in the workplace?

A sprain is an injury to the ligaments of a joint that occurs when they are stretched or torn due to sudden movements or excess pressure. While it is most commonly associated with sports, it is also prevalent in professional settings, particularly in roles that involve physical exertion or potential hazards.

The most prevalent cases are located in the ankles; however, they can also manifest in other areas, including the ankles, wrists, and thumbs.

What are the types of sprains that exist?

1.- Mild (first degree):

Stretched ligaments, mild pain and little movement affected.

2.-Moderate (second degree):

Partial ligament tear, severe pain and difficulty in moving the joint.

3.- Serious (third degree):

Total ligament tear, severe pain and inability to move the joint.

There are several strategies that can be implemented in the workplace to prevent sprains. These include warming up before physical exertion, maintaining good posture, lifting correctly, and ensuring a safe environment. The proper use of equipment and the monitoring of fatigue can also contribute to risk reduction. Preventative measures are crucial to ensure the safety of our employees and maintain a healthy work environment.

Grease, Use and Lubrication

Ongoing training is an integral component of our strategy, aimed at ensuring operational efficiency and the seamless execution of our processes. To that end, we recently held a specialized course on the use and lubrication of greases, with the objective of reinforcing the technical knowledge of our collaborators in key topics for preventive maintenance and equipment durability.

This course was attended by employees from various departments, including Maintenance, Processes and Molds, who demonstrated a high degree of participation and commitment. During the training, topics such as the proper selection of greases, correct application methods, recommended lubrication intervals, and best practices to avoid mechanical failures due to inadequate lubrication were addressed.

This initiative not only enhances the team's competencies but also fosters collaboration across diverse departments, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of industrial machinery maintenance and operations.

At Plastek, we remain committed to prioritizing technical training as a fundamental strategy to achieve our quality, safety, and efficiency objectives.

The knowledge we share today lays the foundation for the success we build tomorrow.

Active Breaks: Wellness in Motion

In workplaces where workdays can be long and tasks can be physical or repetitive, active breaks have become an important tool in maintaining the overall health of employees. Whether it's spending a lot of time on your feet, in constant motion, or sitting at a desk for long periods of time, the body and mind will suffer if they are not given proper rest.

reduces the risk of injury and musculoskeletal disorders common in these environments.

Nuevos Retos, Nuevas

Oportunidades

Active breaks are small moments in the workday dedicated to gentle movement, stretching or light exercise. Their purpose goes beyond simply "moving"; they are designed to release tension, stimulate circulation, improve posture and reduce muscle fatigue, which in turn

But it's not just the body that benefits. These short breaks also help clear the mind, reduce stress and improve mood, which translates into better concentration and performance. In the long run, the introduction of active breaks helps to create a healthier, more dynamic and wellness-oriented work environment.

Incorporating them on a regular basis does not require big changes, just will and persistence. With just a few minutes a day, you can make a big difference in the quality of life in your work environment.

Plastek Pride: Goals Achieved, Dreams Moving Forward

We know that personal and professional growth go hand in hand. That is why we are pleased to announce that several of our employees have taken an important step in their lives.

Thanks to the commitment of each individual, the support of the company and the educational programs available, our colleagues took advantage of this valuable opportunity to further their academic education. This achievement not only represents progress on an individual level, but also reflects the values of effort, perseverance and self-improvement that are part of our organizational culture.

Congratulations to each of them!

Their dedication is an example to all of us and an inspiration to continue building a better future, both inside and outside of Plastek.

Empowering Learning Through Digital Tools

In an environment where innovation and continuous improvement are part of our daily work, we recently held an internal training that marked a new step in the modernization of our processes: the Training Video Editing Workshop, aimed at group leaders and managers from different departments. The goal was clear: to provide attendees with practical and accessible tools to create visual content that will make employee training processes more efficient and engaging. The sessions explored platforms such as ChatGPT for scripting and Canva for video editing, allowing those with no previous editing experience to create dynamic and functional materials.

The training was conducted by Estrella Becerril, who guided the participants with enthusiasm, clarity and practical examples, facilitating step-by-step learning and inspiring confidence to experiment with new tools.

Beyond the technical part, this training sparked something very valuable: an interest in continuing to learn and share knowledge in new ways. Seeing leaders from different areas getting involved, collaborating and coming up with creative ideas was a reflection of the commitment we have as a team to continue growing.

Empowering Learning Through Digital Tools

One of the great lessons was to understand that digital tools are not just for experts; they are available to everyone, and with the right attitude, we can turn them into allies to improve the way we work, communicate, and train.

These types of initiatives remind us that learning never stops and that everyone, from the shop floor to the C-suite, has the ability to adapt, evolve and contribute to a more agile and connected culture. Technology does not replace human talent; it enhances it.

Thank you to all who participated with enthusiasm, commitment and openness. What we learned in this training is just the beginning of a more visual, more interactive, and much more effective way to share our knowledge.

"Technology does not replace human talent, it enhances it."

Let's keep betting on growth, learning, and transformation!
