...we are reaching deeper into communities across Nigeria, creating empowerment opportunities for sustainable change.

Since inception, our flagship initiatives such as the UBOMI Medical & Surgical Outreach, the Kids-Off-The-Street (KOTS) Shelter, and the PF Scholarship Program have enabled us to bring healing, hope, education and stability to countless lives.

From the Executive Director

We are proud to present our 2024 Impact Report and reflect with gratitude on six incredible years of transforming lives and spreading hope. Through shared commitment and resilience, we’ve deepened our impact touching countless lives.

This year, Ubomi 2024 delivered a total of 8,894 medical interventions to 3,396 beneficiaries to access quality healthcare at no cost. Among these were 121 Ear, Nose & throat (ENT) procedures, 229 eye and surgical operations, treatments and surgeries for complex cases like goitre, hernia etc.

We hope to restore even more lives as we aim to achieve the groundbreaking of the Ubomi Medical Centre by the end of 2025.

More than 100 medical professionals and 150 non-medical volunteers generously gave their time and expertise to make the 2024 Ubomi Medical and Surgical Outreach a success.

Our Kids-Off-The-Street (KOTS) Shelter Program reached an exciting milestone as five of our children—Joshua, Fortune, Ifunnaya, Prisca and Blandine— were enrolled in secondary school at two of our partner schools. This brings the total number of children from our shelter now in secondary school to seven.

Additionally, we have successfully acquired a one-hectare land space to scale the shelter, thus creating the capacity to accommodate even more.

In our PF Scholars Program, a total of 172 students have benefited from the scholarship since its inception. With 21 new scholars joining in 2024, we now have 154 active scholars, 70 of whom are supported through our Adopt-A-PF-Scholar Program.

To further scale this initiative, we are leveraging an existing two-floor building for our school project, creating greater opportunities for access to free quality education.

Your steadfast support has been the cornerstone of these successes empowering us to reach thousands of lives and inspire hope in the face of challenges.

As we step into 2025, we wish you and your loved ones a year filled with joy, prosperity, and meaningful achievements. Thank you for being an integral part of this journey of impact!

Jumoke’s Visit: 5 Years Later Health Webinars & Health Campaigns

Jumoke’s story is a unique one. She was a beneficiary of the Foundation’s first Ubomi Medical and Surgical Outreach held in 2019.

For seven long years, she lived with a massive 16.5 kg uterine fibroid enduring pain, isolation, and the stigma of being cast aside by her community.

Thanks to our partners’ support, Jumoke underwent a successful surgery that transformed her life. Free from years of suffering she now embraces health and dig nity.

Today, she’s not only free from the burdens of her past but thriv ing. This year—five years after her successful surgery—she visited us to share her joy of having her life fully restored. She also cele brated a special milestone with us of becoming a new grand mother, a moment she once thought might never come.

This year, we addressed critical health challenges by empowering individuals with knowledge to navigate tough times though a webinar titled “Mental Health: Staying Healthy in a Recession,” featuring experts who shared practical strategies for managing anxiety and stress in recession-hit economies like Nigeria.

We also continued our online health sensitization campaigns, promoting awareness and proactive measures to build a healthier, more resilient community.

Ubomi Medical & Surgical Outreach 2024

Ubomi 2024 reaffirmed our commitment to providing accessible, transformative healthcare for underserved communities.

Through Ubomi 2024, we delivered 8,894 medical interventions providing FREE quality and accessible healthcare to 3,396 beneficiaries.

Education Program Initiatives

A total of 172 students have benefited from the scholarship program since inception to date, with 21 new scholars joining in 2024.

Additionally, 70 children have been adopted since the inception of the Adopt-A-PFScholar program. This initiative allows individual sponsors to

adopt a specific child or children and actively participate in their educational journey throughout the program.

Sponsors can review the child’s termly report and, under certain conditions, may also communicate directly with the child.

Three PF Scholars Get Admitted to Universities

This year, three of our PF Scholars—Salome, Goodness, and Tofunmi were admitted into uni versities. Salome enrolled to study Banking and Finance, while Goodness began her journey in Medical Laboratory Science. Tofunmi, one of our recent secondary school graduates, also secured admission to study Microbiology.

We are proud to celebrate their achievements as they embark on this exciting chapter of their academic journey.

12 PF Scholars Graduate from Secondary School

This year, twelve scholars from the Pistis Foundation Scholarship Pro gram graduated from secondary school, marking a key milestone in their academic journey.

Having excelled academically and morally, and grown into well-round ed individuals, they are now set to transition to tertiary education. Pistis Foundation remains committed to supporting them as they pursue their aspirations. Congratulations to our graduates!

Our ED Mentored 11 Graduating PF Scholars

In December, our Executive Director, Leonard F. Thomas, mentored PF Scholars who had recently graduated from secondary school. During the session, the ED engaged in one-on-one conversations with the scholars to understand their aspirations and provide valuable guidance as they prepare for higher education.

We will continue to support and provide mentorship as they transition into the next phase of their academic journey.

Shelter Program Initiatives

Education of our KOTS Shelter Children

In 2024, five children from the Kids-Off-The-Street (KOTS) Shelter transitioned to secondary school. Joshua joined Chalcedony School, while Fortune, Ifunnaya, Priscar, and Blandine enrolled at Providence Heights School— both partner schools.

With Darasimi and Lekan already at Rainbow College, the total number of KOTS children in secondary school rose to seven. The remaining 16 children continue their education at Adorable Toes School and Sapphire Hall School, supported by home tutoring.

Health of the KOTS Kids

This year, the children at the KOTS Shelter had 365 health checkups and received 28,125 meals. These efforts ensured they maintained healthy weight standards recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).

We remain dedicated to fostering their well-being through consistent healthcare, balanced nutrition, and holistic support.

The Sports & Innovation Project

Sports Innovation

The kids participated in a Sports & Innovation project by Pistis Foundation in partnership with the Asumah Brothers and other stakeholders, where over 70 street children were empowered through football and technology. The children received football kits and participated in football training for five weeks.

The KOTS children joined street children from Jakande (through Debra’s Palace Initiative) and kids from Destiny Trust Foundation in the opening ceremony match and the championship match, which concluded the football aspect of the program.

The KOTS children also participated in the innovative aspect of the Sports & Innovation project, where they learned a range of valuable computer skills, ranging from coding to basic computer applications. This program was designed to equip them with practical digital knowledge, providing them with the skills needed to succeed in a technology-driven world.

In addition to coding and computer applications, the program encouraged creativity and problem-solving, preparing the children for future opportunities in the digital and tech industries.

Exceptional Performance by the KOTS Kids

In 2024, our children made us proud at their inter-house sports competitions across two schools, where 10 of them brought home a total of 29 medals.

To close the year, the children secured first place at the Nikels Aid Foundation Christmas party event, organized for vulnerable communities. They gave special presentations, outperforming participants from other NGOs to win the coveted first prize. We are incredibly proud of their achievement.

Nikels Aid Foundation is an NGO focused on improving the lives of vulnerable communities and orphans by promoting access to quality healthcare, education, and welfare.

In partnership with Debra’s Palace Initiative, we hosted a Children’s Day event for street kids. They enjoyed games, food, and made new friends. Each child received gifts, including clothes and accessories, and their parents were also given clothing.

Donations to KOTS

We thank everyone who donated to the shelter in cash and kind. This year, we welcomed many visitors who brought thoughtful gifts, making a meaningful impact on the children and our operations.

Impact Stories

A Mother’s Prayer

Answered: 10-Year-Old

Boy

Receives Free Hernia Treatment

Mrs. Ademidu’s young son had suffered from a painful hernia for a long time, preventing him from living a normal childhood. She had taken him to several hospitals and even tried traditional herbal treatments, but nothing worked. The cost of surgery, quoted at N250,000 by the last hospital she visited, was beyond her means, leaving her feeling helpless as her son’s pain persisted.

When Mrs. Ademidu heard about Ubomi and its free surgeries, she decided to attend, though uncertain of what to expect. To her amazement, her son was attended to promptly, and the hernia was successfully removed by our team of volunteer professional surgeons—all at no cost.

Today, her son is healthy and living pain-free, able to play, eat, sleep, and attend school like every other child. Mrs. Ademidu expressed her profound gratitude to Pistis Foundation for giving her son a second chance at a normal life.

We are honored to have made a difference in their lives and wish her son a bright future ahead.

Breaking Barriers: How Goodness

Overcame All Odds

to Secure Her Academic Future

Goodness’s journey began in 2019 when she joined the Pistis Foundation Scholarship Program. When the news broke that she had been awarded the scholarship, she was overwhelmed with excitement. This moment marked the beginning of a life-changing opportunity for Goodness.

The scholarship selection process was thorough. It began with preparatory lessons, followed by an exam to assess the candidates’ readiness. That Saturday, she gave her best in the exam. According to her, when she was awarded the scholarship, she knew it was the start of something extraordinary. She resolved to make the Foundation proud by excelling academically.

Her first day at Chalcedony School was a turning point. Goodness’s determination to succeed was clear from the start. However, her years in secondary school were not without challenges. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the education system globally, affecting students, especially those preparing for key exams like WAEC, NECO, and JAMB. Goodness faced the challenge headon, managing the pressures of multiple exams and a compressed timeline. With the support of Pistis Foundation, her dedication, and her faith, she graduated in October 2021.

That same year, Goodness was also offered the opportunity to pursue an international scholarship.

Pistis Foundation supported her by covering the cost of the SAT exam, but despite her best efforts, she did not secure the scholarship. However, her perse verance didn’t waver. She remained focused on her goal, and her hard work eventually paid off in 2024 when she gained admission to a prestigious Nigerian university to study Medical Laboratory Science.

Goodness’s story is one of relentless determination and the power of opportunity. From overcoming set backs to achieving her dreams, she continues to in spire us. We are incredibly proud of her and excited to see the impact she will make in her chosen field. We will continue to support her as she embarks on her academic journey.

Blessing’s Struggles Turned into Success

Despite these challenges, Blessing remained focused on her dreams. A responsible young girl, she often helped her mother with household

dilapidated building with no windows or doors.

When Blessing lived with her mother, her work often took her away from home, leaving Blessing vulnerable to the dangers of the area, including drug addicts and sex workers.

Since arriving at the KOTS Shelter, Blessing’s journey has been one of a steady growth. Her dedication and hard work in the classroom led to her being named Most Improved Student for the 2023/2024 academic year, a recognition not just for her academic success, but for her perseverance in the face of adversity.

Now 11 years old and in Primary Five, Blessing dreams of becoming a teacher, inspired by her love for creative writing and her desire to help others learn. She continues to impress everyone around her with her commitment to education, and it’s clear she has a bright future ahead.

We are incredibly proud of Blessing’s achievements and remain committed to supporting her as she works towards her dreams.
