FOUNDER'S NOTE Happy New Year! Thank you for yet another year of partnership. To the partners that joined in 2021, a special welcome to Pistis Foundation and thank you for collaborating with us in making impact. 2020 was a year like no other. We had to pause a lot of our regular activities to focus on crisis intervention, providing medical and food relief to members of our target communities. 2021 brought us back to some level of normal operations and we were able to resume our regular activities across our 3 focus areas. As you look through this report, you will see the major strides we made across the Key Areas in 2021. However, it would be impossible to not mention that the Kids Off the Street shelter program was launched, with 20 children placed in the home from various shanties across Lagos. There is still room for a few more and we hope to fill up the home in 2022. The children have begun receiving formal education, talent development and behaviour modification. This will continue for the next 3-5 years before they are reintegrated into society where we believe they will become change agents in the communities they have been rescued from. We look forward to doing much more this year and we thank you once again for your support and partnership last year. Godman Akinlabi 03 | PF IMPACT REPORT
GM'S MESSAGE 2021 was a year of impact and we are thankful for the individual lives that have been transformed through our programs at Pistis Foundation. Since our inception in 2018, we have been working on establishing a home for street children. In 2020 we leased a property but our plans were interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We were however able to make it a reality in 2021. Our major health project for the year was UBOMI 2.0, our annual medical and surgical outreach that was also halted by the pandemic. Based on feedback from UBOMI 1.0 in 2019, we decided to focus on Fibroid and Hernia in the 2021 outreach and we were able to successfully carry out 115 free medical surgeries. Our education scholarship program has continued to run since the Foundation began and in 2021, we provided scholarships to 42 students including 13 new scholars. We were also able to support 5 of our major partner schools with books and airtime subscription for the teachers in the schools. Finally, we were able to hold Food Bank Drives in 6 communities across Lagos feeding over 8000 families this year. At Pistis Foundation, partnership and collaboration is at the heart of all we do and we were able to achieve all we did because of our partners, volunteers and staff. As we review the past year, it provides us with one of many opportunities to appreciate everyone who contributed to ensuring we achieved all our goals for 2021. SHELTER Our shelter program is strategically focused on mitigating the number of homeless children within the Foundation's target communities. The Kids Off The Street shelter is designed to rehabilitate homeless kids and successfully re-integrate them into society. 08 | PF IMPACT REPORT
SHELTER The Shelter arm of Pistis Foundation focused on the Kids off the Street Shelter (KOTS) and Food Banks in 2021. KOTS: The pilot phase of the Kids off the Street Shelter commenced in June. 12 children were screened and selected from the famous Aboki Estate Shanti in Lagos. Since joining the home, the children have been placed in schools and informal rehabilitating education is on-going in the home. Over 8,125 meals have been provided to the children in the home this year. In December, 8 more children joined the home from a variety of Shanties across Lagos and 2 more are due to join in 2022 to complete the 22 beds in the home. The home was secured in 2020 and has been licensed by the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development. Food Bank Drives: Food bank distribution drives were held in 6 communities across Lagos (Ikorodu, Ajegunle, Ibeju-Lekki and various areas around Eti-Osa), feeding over 8000 families.

IMPACT STORY
Glory came to the Shelter in June, 2021 as the youngest beneficiary. She was 6 years old at the time and lived in the Aboki Shanti before coming into the home. At the shelter, an educational assessment was done and it was discovered that she had the academic scoring level of a 1 year old child. She could not read the simplest form of literacy or identify letters A-Z. She needed to be guided to hold a pencil. Hitherto, she had not attended school like her age mates as her single mother could not afford to support her and her half siblings. Her mother had no means of livelihood or accommodation. This unfortunately exposed Glory to unguided knowledge of adult culture, vulgar language, and street-smart behaviour way past her age. Within weeks at the shelter, she was placed privately with professional tutors who took turns in teaching her. She had to go back to nursery school to build her educational foundation. She is now 7 years old and in 6 month at the shelters, she can write her number 1-20 and letters without assistance. She speaks politely and she is making a conscious effort with her spoken English- grammar and vocabulary and has managed to eradicate vulgarity from her speech.

HEALTH Our Health program is focused on providing support for the total health and well-being of target beneficiaries of Pistis Foundation. Total health encompass the physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. 16 | PF IMPACT REPORT
HEALTH The Health arm of Pistis Foundation focused on Medical Outreaches and Health Awareness in 2021. Medical Outreaches: In 2019, Pistis Foundation Health held UBOMI 1.0 'restoring lives', an annual medical and surgical outreach aimed at meeting the medical needs of target communities. UBOMI 2.0 was postponed a week to the event in 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic but was successfully held in 2021. The covid-19 restrictions limited its scope and streamlined its reach, causing the Foundation to focus on Hernia and Fibroids-the top two surgical cases in 2019. 115 surgeries were carried out in November, at no cost to the beneficiaries-77 Fibroids and 38 Hernia surgeries. All the surgeries were successful and the beneficiaries are recovering well. Pistis Foundation also partnered with Pro-Health International during their medical outreach in Abuja, and visited IDP camps to provide medical attention to those in need. Health Awareness: Throughout 2021, various campaigns were carried out on social media to raise awareness on a variety of medical conditions. A special 'Walk for Hernia' was held in October in preparation for the UBOMI 2.0 and to raise awareness for Hernia. Three Webinars were held in the course of the year, providing information on Covid-19 Vaccines, Blood Donation and Hernia. 17| PF IMPACT REPORT
IMPACT STORY Joyce Obua was one of the UBOMI 2.0 beneficiaries. She was a double beneficiary who was diagnosed with both Fibroid and Hernia and successfully relieved of both conditions at the outreach. Since her diagnosis ten years ago, she purchased different types of herbs at different times to suppress the pains from the ailment but to no avail. In October 2021, she came in contact with someone who shared the UBOMI 2.0 flyer with her and advised her to call the phone lines. She thought it was a scam and was reluctant to call. She did not believe that a program like UBOMI was possible in Nigeria. Joyce is thankful to her husband for stepping in at the right time. When he realised she was yet to call, he encouraged her to make the phone call. She was scheduled for pre-screening where it was confirmed that she not only had one, but both conditions. She qualified for surgery on the basis of her medical and economic situation, and was able to have both surgeries carried out successfully at no financial cost to her. Today, Joyce has a new lease of life, living completely free of both Fibroid and Hernia. At Pistis Foundation, we call this 'restoring lives' and this is what UBOMI and all our interventions are all about.

EDUCATION Our Education program works with academic institutions - primary and secondary, as well as vocational training institutions to develop a broad range of interventions including: teacher training, quality improvements and offering academic scholarships. 21 | PF IMPACT REPORT
EDUCATION The Education arm of Pistis Foundation focused on Scholarships and Partner School engagement in 2021. Scholarships: At the start of 2021, Pistis Foundation had 29 scholars placed across a number of schools. 13 new scholars were included in the course of the year and 2 graduated from the scholarship program bringing the current total number of scholars to 40 by the end of 2021. 10 new students are expected to join the Scholarship program in January and 50 more in September. There are plans to extend the reach to the economically challenged outside Lagos State. Partner Schools: Pistis Foundation scholars are placed in 14 schools across Lagos State. 6 of the schools have offered their arm of partnership and are considered partner schools. This year, book donations were made to these schools and airtime was donated to the teachers in the school for 3 months

Since commencing operations in October 2018, Pistis Foundation has graduated 4 students from its secondary school scholarship program. This year, a graduate Luncheon was held to celebrate their achievement and provide direction on the next stages of their education. Goodness is one of the graduates and below is her story in her own words: 'It feels like yesterday I was called and told I already got a scholarship. I can vividly remember I was at home after school on a Friday when my dad called to share the good news. I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the drastic improvement I have made over the years which made me reminisce on how I actually got my scholarship. The procedure was not as stressful as getting other scholarships. We initially started a lesson which I didn't put much interest in until a group, PISTIS FOUNDATION interviewed me. Not until then did I realize I was in for serious business.

On a faithful Saturday, we were told to come to church because we were going to write an examination to test us on the development and to evaluate our qualification for the scholarship.
IMPACT STORY Thankfully I read well and put my utmost best into it. I didn't see my score but I saw the result when I got the scholarship. When they told me to prepare for school before Sunday I stood there transfixed for what felt like hours realizing I had to up my game to maintain the scholarship because of the terms and conditions. On my way to chalcedony school, I was outrageously euphoric and petrifying nostalgic. Indescribable steam of exquisite emotions coming from within my heart overwhelming my entire being I thought to myself that this is the beginning of an immensely beautiful chapter stepping into the school I vowed to make the foundation very proud of me as I decided there and then to double my efforts. The foundation is very caring and devoted always motivated all the students who were given the scholarship which also includes visiting the school and students at different times intervals to keep in touch of our academic development. In 2021, the schooling system was interrupted by a worldthreatening epidemic, CORONA VIRUS. This impromptu interruption in the education s 26 | PF IMPACT REPORT
sector was a huge blow on the students especially for the students who were supposed to write WAEC the following year. My set mates and I happened to be the ones who received the biggest blow because of the epidemic.. We had to write Jamb, NECO, and WAEC for which WAEC and NECO nearly clashed on the timetable thankfully we were able to break the barrier. I was able to succeed not just because of Pistis Foundation but mostly of God who guided me to graduate on the sixteenth day of October 2021 and with the help of Pistis Foundation, the motivation to continue to strive engulfs me and pushes me to unleash my full potential. I will always remember the overwhelming feeling of being loved by people and I am sure if there is any group to make me feel all these emotions it's PISTIS.......'(sic) Goodness' school contacted the Foundation to support her in pursuing an international scholarship to continue her studies in the US. Pistis Foundation paid for her to write the SATs in December and we look forward to helping her find a school in 2022.
