Founder’s Note When Pistis Foundation kicked-off in 2018, we began with a 5-year strategic plan. This had to be halted in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, to enable us to focus on crisis intervention. We are pleased to be back on track, focusing on our 3 key areas as laid out from the beginning. We are quite excited about the impact we have made over the last 4 years and are extremely grateful to you for your support in helping us to achieve this, either as a volunteer, donor or partner, in one way or the other. In pursuant of our strategic objectives, one of the key goals we were able to achieve this year was the finalization of our audited reports for the first few years of our operations as a foundation. We also held more board meetings this year than previous years, and the objective was to foster good corporate governance and ensure alignment with strategic objectives, as we proceed into our 5th year as a foundation. Essentially, we would continue to position the Pistis Foundation brand as a reputable NGO, established to restore lives and empower generations sustainably. The year 2023 holds a lot of promises for impacting more lives as we will be celebrating 5-years of Impact. We also have exciting plans in our pipeline of activities, one of which is to hold the groundbreaking of our UBOMI Medical Center hospital. With kindest regards,

Executive Director’s Message It is a privilege that we do not take for granted at Pistis Foundation, to be able to impact the lives of our beneficiaries since our official launch in 2018. 2022 has not been any different and it is exciting to look back at the milestones we were able to attain this past year. You may be aware that we launched the pilot version of our Kids Off The Street (KOTS) Shelter in May 2021. This year, we obtained our final operating license and filled the home to its full capacity. With the support of well-meaning partners and dedicated volunteers, we have been able to invest in the lives of 23 street children, placing them in good schools, supporting their education with home tutors, feeding, clothing, nurturing and helping to modify their behaviour, equipping them to be change agents in the larger society. We further conducted impact assessments on all the children and visited their previous environments, to ascertain their level of progress 18 months after. We outlined standardised ways for scaling the project, bearing in mind that "street kids" menace is still on the rise.

Each child was also introduced to our Wings Academy talent development program, where they learnt music, chess, computing et al. It is our belief that each child has the potential to flourish if placed in the right environment and adequately equipped with the right tools and resources required for a successful future. This, no doubt, can only be attained through the support and strategic collaboration of key stakeholders such as yourself and all our partners, including public and private sector actors. This year, we also reverted to our original model of attending to an array of health needs during our annual flagship program - UBOMI Medical and Surgical Outreach. During the one-week free medical outreach, a total of 5,513 medical interventions were performed on 2,391 persons, including dental, eye, general surgeries, pharmaceutical, laboratory and more. We are extremely grateful to our key partners, Pro-health International, The Elevation Church and the over 200 volunteers from across Nigeria, Canada and America, who gave of their time, expertise and more, to meet the medical needs of all the beneficiaries. Thank you for helping to restore lives. The later part of 2022 focused on scaling our scholarship program to beneficiaries within and outside Lagos. We welcomed 39 new beneficiaries, 19 of whom were from Ogun and Oyo States.
2 of the first set of PF scholars have now progressed to higher institutions to study Business Administration and Mass Communication. This was particularly emotional for me as I personally had the privilege of escorting them to high school on their first day many years ago. These moments are the reason why we do what we do at Pistis Foundation. Summarily, 2023 is considered to be a significant year for us at Pistis Foundation, one where we plan to look back on our strides in the first 5-years, even as we plan for future years. As the pioneer General Manager and now Executive Director, I am excited about the next phase we are entering as a foundation, and earnestly look forward to doing this alongside you. Our initiatives are designed to provide shelter for street children and rehabilitate them. We also aim to reduce the number of out-of-school children who come from economically challenged backgrounds but show academic promise through our scholarship program. Lastly, we understand that good health and well being is necessary for the success of an individual which is why we provide free medical care and surgeries through our medical outreaches.

This year, the final operating license for the Kids Off The Street (KOTS) Shelter was granted by the State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, replacing the 6-month provisional license obtained in June 2021. The home is now operating at full capacity with 3 new children joining the home in January 2022, making a total of 23 children in the shelter.

Following the impact assessment of our KOTS pilot program, our goal is to meet more needs and to achieve greater impact in the coming years. Medical Supplies Donations: This year, donations of drugs and other medical supplies were made to inmates at the Kirikiri Correctional Facilities in June. Drugs were also donated to underseverd communities in Badagry, and to beneficiaries of the Christmas Grotto/Soup Kitchen in December.

Health Awareness: Throughout 2022, various campaigns were carried out on social media to raise awareness on health issues affecting people across the world. PF Scholars currently placed in 22 schools
This year, Pistis Foundation scaled her scholarship program to include candidates from outside Lagos, and currently has 89 PF Scholars placed in 22 schools across Lagos, Ogun and Oyo States, including two scholars who gained admission into higher institutions this year.

Scholarships: At the end of 2021, Pistis Foundation had 39 scholars placed across 10 schools. 11 new scholars were included in January, bringing the total number to 50 Scholars at the beginning of 2022. The Pistis Foundation Annual Scholarship drive ran from August-October and 149 students were assessed. 39 new Scholars were awarded in October 2022 bringing the total number of PF Scholars to 89 by the end of 2022. 27 | PF IMPACT REPORT
Partner Schools: As part of the scholarship drive, 35 schools were visited and screened. 12 schools were selected for placement of the new PF Scholars, bringing the total number of schools to 22. Of the 22 schools, 15 are considered partner schools and 10 of these partnerships were instituted this year. Some of the older partner schools were toured by the Executive Director in November, and he awarded plaques to them in appreciation of their support over the years. 28 | PF IMPACT REPORT
Higher Institutions: The Foundation currently has 5 PF Scholars that have graduated from secondary schools. 3 of them sat the JAMB examination after receiving guidance from the team on appropriate courses and schools to select. 2 of the scholars were able to resume at the Ogun State Institute of Technology in the last quarter of 2022.

Mrs Juliet Eze came to Ubomi 2022 hoping for a solution to 1-year-old Cynthia's ‘boil’. She first noticed the boil when Cynthia was 4 months old was 4 months old but did not think too much of it at the time. However, 8 months ater. the ‘boil’ was clearly no longer just a boil. When the boil began to grow, she visited hospitals and was told that what she thought was a boil was indeed a tumor.

Education & Shelter Impact Story cont’d Timothy won the award for the best KOTS child in English with an overall score of 96% in the subject. This feat was made possible by the significant improvement he made in the 3rd term, by attaining 100% in the subject. It was an exciting moment to see the progress he had made in ten months. The final award category was for the overall best scholar for the year and Timothy was nominated for the top award of the day. The hall was full of excitement at the realization that a boy who almost died less than a year before, received the top award with an overall score of 94% across all subjects. It was very emotional for those who knew his story to see how far he had come in only a few months. Timothy's story is being rewritten every day and we are privileged to be impacting his life and navigating the new direction of his life's story.
