REGULAR PROGRAMS

Bookmobile (Points West)—October 9th & 23rd at 1:30 pm. Bookmobile now runs to Points West every two weeks. Bookmobile (Heritage Tower)—October 11th and 25th at 1:30 pm. Bookmobile currently runs to Heritage Tower every two weeks. Tabletop Gamers—October 11th & 25th from 6 to 8 pm. All ages welcome! Snacks provided by Domino’s Pizza and Mint Drugs. Come check it out! (TTG is cancelled for Sept. 27th due to staff training) After School Club—Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 to 5pm. Begins September 5th and 6th. New registration forms will need to be filled out for the new school year. Bussing can be arranged through your school division’s transportation department.

Young Adults Only—October 4th & 18th from 6 to 8pm. New program for young adults only! Alternate Thursdays. For those 13 to 18 years old.

Nerf Wars—October 19th from 4:45 to 6pm. It’s back! Space is limited so register early. New forms needed for the new school year.

Story Time with Peace Parent Link— Fridays at 10:30am. Intended for children 3 to 5 years old but all children welcome. Parent participation required.

Talking Buddies—October 13th at 10:30am. Conversation practice for ESL students. Please register.

Yarn Night—Thursdays from 6:30 to 8pm. Come and join other knitters and crocheters for an evening of social yarn fun! *Not a class*

SPECIAL EVENTS 

Art Gallery Exhibition Opening Reception—October 3rd from 6 to 8pm. . Travelling TREX exhibit “The Future is Botanical.” Light refreshments will be provided. Art will be on display from October 3rd to October 31st.

Sisters in Spirit Film Screening—October 4th at 6pm. We will be viewing Our Sisters in Spirit and Protect our Future Daughters. 

Movie Night—October 5th at 6pm. Settle in with some popcorn and watch Jurassic World : Fallen Kingdom! More information of page 5.

Journal Friends—October 10th and 11th from 4 to 6 pm. Create your own creative journal. Supplies and snack provided. For ages 10 to 16. Registration required as space is limited.

Painting with Bob Ross—October 13th at 2pm. Join Cyndi as she paints along with Bob Ross! Ages 13+ Limited space. Registration required. Cost TBA

Edo-Friendly Living—October 18th at 6pm. Houda El Didawi will be here to share ideas for helpling our environment.

Book Launch—October 20th at 1pm. Charlene Caver will be here to introduce her new book and present an art display.

Interact Haunted House—October 31st from 5 to 8pm. The Interact Club will be back to transform the Library! Activities for the faint of heart will be held in the Art Gallery.

MOVIE NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY

October 5th at 6pm. (Doors open at 5:45pm)

Jurassic World : Fallen Kingdom Three years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that's about to erupt. They soon encounter terrifying new breeds of gigantic dinosaurs, while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet.

The Future is Botanical—October 3rd to October 31st. A travelling TREX exhibit. Opening reception on October 3rd at 6pm. Light refreshment will be served.

ONLINE RESOURCES www.TRACpac.ab.ca—TRACpac is an online catalogue system that lets you search the collections of many libraries across Alberta. It also lets you manage your account so once you find the item you are looking for, you can request it right from home. It also lets you check what you have out and when your items are due back. You can renew your items right from your computer, tablet, or phone. TRACpac also gives you access to Libby (formerly Overdrive) for digital audiobooks and e-books and Hoopla for digital audiobooks, music, movies, TV and more. Sign on to TRACpac with your library card number and password (phone your library if you don’t know it) and start exploring.

Join the Library Board or The Friends of the Library to have your input heard regarding the policies and operations of the library! Ask for an application at the front desk or check our website.

There is a fee of $40 for this service. Please call the Library at least 2 weeks before the exam date to book your appointment.
