REGULAR PROGRAMS 

Bookmobile (Points West)—Dedember 4th and 18th at 1:30 pm. Bookmobile now runs to Points West every two weeks. Bookmobile (Heritage Tower)— December 6th and 20th at 1:30 pm. Bookmobile currently runs to Heritage Tower every two weeks. Tabletop Gamers—December 6th and 20th from 6 to 8 pm. All ages welcome! Snacks provided by Domino’s Pizza and Mint Drugs. Come check it out! After School Club—Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 to 5pm. Registration required monthly. Bussing can be arranged through your school division’s transportation department. **Please note that ASC will not be available during Christmas Break. Story Time—Fridays at 10:30am. Intended for children 3 to 5 years old but all children welcome. Parent participation required.

Yarn Night—Thursdays from 6:30 to 8pm. Come and join other knitters and crocheters for an evening of social yarn fun! *Not a class*

Young Adults Only—December 13th from 6 to 8pm. This program is for young adults only! Alternate Thursdays. For those 13 to 18 years old.

Nerf Wars—December 14th from 4:45 to 6pm. It’s back! Space is limited so register early. New forms needed for the new school year.

Talking Buddies—December 12th at 6pm. Conversation practice for ESL students. Please register.

**Please note that regular programs will not be running from December 22nd to January 2nd.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES 

Town of Peace River Library Board—Next meeting December 6th at 6pm. Thinking of joining the Library Board? The public is welcome to attend meetings to observe. Application forms are available at the cirdulation desk.

Talking Buddies—This is a program that matches ESL students with a partner for some conversation practice. If interested, contact the Library.

Friends of the Library meets periodically throughout the year. Contact the Library to find out how to join.

SPECIAL EVENTS 

Trim the Tree—December 1st from 1 to 3pm. Time to make ornaments to decorate the Christmas tree in the children’s area! After getting messy join us for cookies and a short movie—Dragons Holiday : Gift of the Night Fury.

Art Gallery Exhibition Opening Reception— December 12th from 6 to 8pm. . Eating is a travelling TREX exhibit by artist Heather Buchanan.

How to have an Eco-Friendly Christmas— December 8th from 10am to noon. Christmas can be a time of excess and it takes a toll on our planet. Find out tips and tricks for an Eco-Friendly Christmas!

Water Colour Christmas Card Workshop— December 8th at 1:30pm. Sophie will be here to lead us in making wonderful cards for the holiday season!

Breakfast with Santa—December 15th from 10 am to Noon. What’s better than pancakes? Having pancakes and seeing Santa at the same time! Stop by the Library between 10 am and noon. Please bring your own camera for pictures.

Drawing with Pastels—December 20th from 6pm to 8pm. Local artist, Leah Lawton, is back and this time she is teaching us how draw using pastels! This class will fill up fast so please call to register.

MAKERSTATIONS We’re trying something NEW! When you come in to the Library in December, you will notice two stations set up with an activity for you to enjoy. 

Watercolour Cards—The materials for painting watercolour cards will be set up for you to use to experiment and play. A small fee may apply to cover costs. If you would like some instruction first, sign up for Sophie’s class being held on December 8th.

Sewing—Do you have small sewing projects that you are avoiding because you don’t have a sewing machine? Maybe you would just like the chance to check one out? Now you can. There will be a sewing station complete with a basic sewing machine and supplies for you use. A small fee may apply to cover costs of supplies.

There is a fee of $40 for this service. Please call the Library at least 2 weeks before the exam date to book your appointment.
