REGULAR PROGRAMS 

Bookmobile—July 5th & 19th and August 2nd, 16th & 30th at 1:30 pm. Bookmobile currently runs to Heritage Tower every two weeks. If you know of a resident who would benefit from this service, please call the library. Tabletop Gamers—July 5th & 19th and August 2nd, 16th & 30th from 6 to 8 pm. All ages welcome! Pizza and snacks provided by Domino’s Pizza and Mint Drugs. Come check it out! Family Movie Night—July 13th from 6 to 8:30pm. Doors open at 5:45. This month’s movie is The Secret World of Arrietty. See our movie page for more information or check our website.

TD Summer Reading Club (ages 7-12) Wednesdays from 1 to 3pm. Registration forms are available on our website or at the Circulation Desk. Registration is open all Summer.

SPECIAL EVENTS 

Hair Wrap Workshop—July 7th from 2 to 4pm. Want to learn how to do a hair wrap? Drop-in to our workshop and we will teach you how to create this fun summer hair trend. All ages welcome.

Film Screening—July 11th from 6 to 8pm. Secret Path. This is a short documentary about the concept album by Gord Downie about Chanie Wenjack, a young Anishinaabe boy from the Marten Falls First Nation who died in 1966 while trying to return home after escaping from an Indian residential school. A local Elder will lead a Sharing Circle after the film. (Participation not required)

A New Alphabet: LGBTQ+ Education Workshop—July 18th from 6 to 8pm. HIV North will be presenting information on gender identity & diversity, LGBTQ+ terms & definitions, LGBTQ+ mental health, and resources available. Presentation.

Harry Potter’s Birthday—July 31st. Various activities will be available throughout the day to celebrate the birthday of “The Boy Who Lived.”

Staycation Movie—August 4th from 2 to 4pm. Movie to be announced. Watch our Facebook page for more information.

Make Your Own Ice Cream Social—August 11th at 1 to 3pm. What’s better than ice cream? Ice cream eaten with friends! Stop in for a sweet treat and good company.

Portrait Drawing 101—August 15th from 6 to 8pm. Leah Lawton will be here to teach the basics of drawing faces. Registration required. Space limited. For ages 13+ Free program. 3

Annual Indigenous Art Show—June 20th to July 18th. Artwork by local Indigenous artists will be displayed.

DMI/Peace of Art Show—July 25th to August 22nd. Annual art show of local artists belonging to the Peace of Art club and sponsored by DMI Pulp and Paper Peace River.

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT

July 13th at 6pm. (Doors open at 5:45pm)

The Secret World of Arrietty.

Arrietty, a tiny teenager, lives with her parents in the recesses of a suburban home, unbeknown to the homeowner and housekeeper. Like others of her kind, Arrietty remains hidden from her human hosts, but occasionally ventures forth from beneath the floorboards to borrow sugar cubes and other supplies. A secret friendship forms when 12-yearold Shawn meets Arrietty, but their relationship could spell danger for Arrietty's family.

ONLINE RESOURCES www.TRACpac.ab.ca—TRACpac is an online catalogue system that lets you search the collections of many libraries across Alberta. It also lets you manage your account so once you find the item you are looking for, you can request it right from home. It also lets you check what you have out and when your items are due back. You can renew your items right from your computer, tablet, or phone. TRACpac also gives you access to Libby (formerly Overdrive) for digital audiobooks and e-books and Hoopla for digital audiobooks, music, movies, TV and more. Sign on to TRACpac with your library card number and password (phone your library if you don’t know it) and start exploring.
