REGULAR PROGRAMS 

Talking Buddies—November 6th at 6pm. Conversation practice for ESL students. Please register. English speaking volunteers needed.

Movie Night at the Library—November 1st at 6pm. Doors open at 5:50. Admission is free and includes popcorn. See page 7 for more information Bookmobile (Points West)—November 5th & 19th at 2 pm. Bookmobile runs to Points West every two weeks. Bookmobile (Heritage Tower)— November 7th & 21st at 1:30 pm. Bookmobile runs to Heritage Tower every two weeks. Tabletop Gamers—November 7th & 21st from 6 to 8 pm. All ages welcome! Snacks provided by Domino’s Pizza and Mint Drugs. Multiplayer Mayhem—November 14th from 6 to 8pm. Are you nerd enough to keep up? Prove it! Join in this video game night to find a worthy opponent or a brilliant partner. For ages 10 to 18.

Nerf Wars—November 15th from 4:45 to 6pm. Capture the Flag! Space is limited so sign up early. Registration forms must be updated annually.

Craft Zone—November 28th at 6pm. For teens and tweens who want a safe place to be creative. This month’s project—string art!

Lunch at the Library—Wednesdays from 11:30 to 1:30. Bring your lunch and come to the Library! A microwave and coffee provided. Tinker Team—Wednesdays from 3:45 to 5pm. Do you love Lego? K’nex? Toothpicks and marshmallows? Just got to build? Here’s the program for you. For ages 7 to 12 yrs. Registration required monthly. Club Meeples—Thursdays from 3:45 to 5pm. Board games! Card games! New to try and old favourites. For ages 7 to 12 yrs. Registration required monthly. Story Time with Peace Parent Link— Fridays at 10:30am. A story, crafts, and fun activities! For ages 0-5. Parent participation required..

SPECIAL EVENTS 

Art Exhibit Opening Reception—November 7th at 6pm. The Valley Peacemakers Quilt Guild will be back to show us their latest projects!

Cooking up a Story—November 7th, 14th, 21st, & 28th at 10am. Cyndi is stirring up some fun with Peace Parent Link! Learn safe cooking habits and participate in activities that will bring the story to life. Space is limited. Please register by calling Peace Parent Link (780-624-0770)

Beginner Cree Language Lessons— November 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th from 6:30 to 7:30pm. Taught by Violet Ominayak. Learn Cree language basics. Ages 18+. Registration required.

Festival of Trees—November 14th to 18th. See the Library’s entry!

Dreamcatcher Workshop—November 20th from 6 to 8pm. Learn to make a dreamcatcher with Jackie Leprete! Registration required. Ages 13+. $5 per person.

Watercolour Christmas Card Workshop— November 23rd at 1:30pm. Sophie Savoie will be here to share her watercolour skills! Registration required. Ages 13+

Glass Ornament Workshop—November 27th from 6 to 8pm. Sharon will be here to walk you through making glass fusion tree ornaments! $20 for a set of three. Registration and payment required by Nov. 23rd.

Toastmasters Open House—November 28th from 6:30 to 8pm. Learn how Toastmasters can help improve your public speaking and build leadership skills.

Santa Parade—November 29th at 6pm. Watch for the Library in the parade!

Fun with Icing—December 4th at 6pm. Decorate your cupcake and eat it too! Ages 9+ Registration Required.

IN THE DMI ART GALLERY

Hanging by a Thread. November 6th to December 7th. The Valley Peacemakers Quilt Guild will be showing their latest projects. Stop in to see the amazing things this local group can do with fabric!

Art Exhibit Opening Reception— November 6th from 6:30 to 8pm. The Valley Peacemakers will be here to answer your questions and discuss the inspiration for their latest pieces.

MOVIE NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY November 1st at 6pm. The Lion King Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny on the plains of Africa. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Scar, Mufasa's brother -- and former heir to the throne -- has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is soon ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. Now, with help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba must figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES 

Town of Peace River Library Board—Next meeting September 12th at 6pm. Thinking of joining the Library Board? The public is welcome to attend meetings to observe. Application forms are available at the circulation desk or on our website.

Friends of the Library meets periodically throughout the year. Contact the Library to find out how to join.

Talking Buddies—This is a program that matches ESL students with a partner for some conversation practice. If interested, contact the Library. 13

Join the Library Board or The Friends of the Library to have your input heard regarding the policies and operations of the library! Ask for an application at the front desk or check our website.

Next Library Board Meeting November 14th at 6pm. The Public is invited to observe.

Exam Proctoring If you need to write an exam for distance education, we offer proctoring. There is a fee of $40 for this service.
