This summer, Place des Arts is offering a variety of camps, as well as music, visual arts and dance programs taught by our amazing teachers. From July 4 - August 11, 2023, take part in the arts!

Summer Fun! Half-Day Camps (Ages 5-7, 8-12 and 11-14)

Our half-day camps are for ages 5-7, 8-12 and 11-14. Students can choose from a variety of visual and performing arts classes, providing flexibility and choice. Sign up for one camp, or create a full day by signing up for two camps and lunchtime camp care. Find out more.

Registration for our summer programming begins on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 7:00 AM online and at 1:00 PM in person and by phone.

Online registration opens at 7:00 AM on Sunday, April 2, 2023. Prior to registration, please visit our registration site to familiarize yourself with the process.

Non-refundable online processing fee for ALL online registrations

All online enrolments are subject to a nonrefundable processing fee (calculation based on enrolment cost) charged by Active Network Ltd., our online registration software provider. Place des Arts cannot refund this processing fee for withdrawals or cancellations since it is not refunded to Place des Arts by ActiveNet.

Summer Fun! Fees

The total fee for each Summer Fun! camp is indicated on the camp schedule (pages 7-18). The fee includes the cost of the camp for the entire week, plus any applicable supply fees and a non-refundable registration fee. Please note, weeks 1 and 6 are four-day weeks and camp fees are pro-rated.

Summer Fun! Withdrawals

A student may withdraw up to seven (7) days prior to the camp start date. A refund of the camp fee(s) and any applicable supply fees will be granted less the non-refundable registration fee and online processing fee. Refunds will not be granted after the seven (7) day period has passed. Exceptions for medical or compassionate reasons may be considered upon receipt of a written request submitted at least 24 hours prior to the start date of the camp to info@placedesarts.ca. Upon approval, a refund of the camp fee will be granted, less the registration fee and any applicable supply fees.

Camp Care Withdrawals

Lunchtime Camp Care is non-refundable and non-transferable. However, if the student is withdrawing from the entire camp, the Summer Fun! Camps’ withdrawal policy applies.

Summer Fun! Cancellations

If camp(s) are cancelled by Place des Arts, a full or partial refund of the camp fees will be granted.

Summer Fun! Missed Camps

No refunds or make-ups will be granted for camps missed by the student for reasons including, but not limited to, illness, scheduling conflicts and/or vacation.

Summer Fun! Age Policy

Our Summer Fun! camps are programmed based on the developmental abilities of each age group. By adhering to set age groups, we ensure a quality experience for all students in the class.

Summer Fun! Half Day Camps

5-7 years: Child must turn 5 or still be 7 by the Friday of the week that the camp is in.

8-12 years: Child must turn 8 or still be 12 by December 31, 2023.

11-14 years: Child must turn 11 or still be 14 by the Friday of the week that the camp is in.

Summer Fun! Day Camps

7-10 years: Child must turn 7 or still be 10 by the Friday of the week that the camp is in.

Camp Behaviour Policy • Support Needs & Health Concerns

It is our goal for all children attending camps to have the best experience possible in a warm and welcoming environment. To promote consistent behaviour expectations among students, we use the “FISH” policy. We recommend reviewing the FISH policy with your child(ren) prior to camp. F

2. Supervised time out: If the behaviour continues, the child will be removed from the program for a time out. The child’s parent/ guardian will be notified of the incident and will be asked to review the behaviour policy with their child.

3. Parent pick-up: If the behaviour continues, the parent/guardian will be contacted and asked to pick up their child immediately with the child missing the rest of the day.

Support Needs and Health Concerns

Place des Arts is committed to making our arts programming accessible to all. Due to limited classroom capacity, some restrictions may apply.

If any child has difficulty meeting our behaviour expectations, we will follow our four-step plan:

1. Verbal warning: Our first response will be a verbal intervention to help the child understand the impact their behaviour is having on others.

4. Student dismissal: A student may be dismissed if their behaviour prevents safe and effective participation in our programs. Dismissal may occur after a consultation between the parent/guardian, child, program staff and Place des Arts’ Executive Director. No refunds will be given.

Note: Place des Arts has the discretion to dismiss a student immediately under appropriate circumstances.

• Prior to the start of your child(ren)’s camp, please advise Place des Arts staff of any health concerns, including food allergies or support needs, that your child(ren) may have. This helps to ensure a successful experience. Please update the Medical Alert section on your child(ren)’s account with any relevant information or email us at summercamp@placedesarts.ca.

• Parents/guardians are responsible for administering any medications required by the student. Although our staff members have First Aid training, they cannot administer medication, except for an EpiPen, in the case of an emergency. Please email us at summercamp@placedesarts.ca if your child has an EpiPen.

Summer Fun! Half-Day Camp Overview

Half-Day Camps for 5-7 and 8-12 years

Each half-day camp for 5-7 and 8-12 years includes a block of three 50-minute classes in the visual and/or performing arts. Sign up for one camp, or create a full day by signing up for two camps and lunchtime camp care.

Along with the teacher, most classes will also have a volunteer and student support staff. Between classes, a volunteer or staff member will transition your child to the next classroom. All supplies are provided.

For students registered for both the morning and afternoon half day camps, there is the option to register for Lunchtime Camp Care from 12:00-12:45 PM.

Half-Day Camps for 11-14 years

Camps for 11-14 years are offered in visual arts and are 3 hours long. Most supplies are provided, please see class description for any additional material required.

Half-Day Camp Drop-off Procedure

Camp drop-off occurs between 8:45-9:00 AM for morning camps and between 12:35-12:45 PM for afternoon camps. Families must sign-in with a staff member each day.

There is limited parking available at Place des Arts and we expect drop-off times to be busy. Please plan accordingly and find more information about parking on page 34.

What to Bring:

• Please bring a water bottle and a nut-free snack.

• We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes and to dress for mess and movement.

• Please do not bring any unnecessary belongings to camp (eg. toys, games, money, etc.).

• On the last day of camp, please bring a box or large bag labelled with your child’s name to bring artwork home in.

Half-Day Camp Pick-up Procedure

Camp pick-up occurs between 12:00-12:10 PM for morning camps and between 3:45-4:00 PM for afternoon camps on Place des Arts’ main floor. A staff member will greet families and direct them to the appropriate classroom for pick-up.

Lunchtime Camp Care (12:00-12:45 PM)

For students ages 5-12 registered for both the morning and afternoon Half Day Camps, who will be staying on site between camps must register for Camp Care from 12:00-12:45 PM for an additional cost ($35 per week or $28 for weeks 1 and 6). Alternatively, families are welcome to pick-up their child(ren) during this time. For safety and staffing reasons, pre-registration is required. Please bring a nut-free lunch and water bottle each day. Camp Care will be held outside, weather permitting. See the camp grids on pages 7-18 for details.

Summer Fun! Day Camp Overview

Day Camp Overview

Designed for students aged 7-10, our full-day camps are offered for six weeks from July 4 to August 11, 2023. Each day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:45 PM. Each camp will have a maximum of 11 students and two classes. Block 1 and Block 2 consist of one visual arts and one performing arts class and Block 3 consists of two visual arts classes. All supplies are provided. Outdoor activities may occur during the week and will be supervised and within walking distance of Place des Arts. Lunch and break times will be held outside, weather permitting.

Abstract Art

7-10 years

Do you love colour, pattern and texture? Learn how to create fun, fast and rewarding abstract art. You will discover various mark-making techniques, design several abstract patterns and create collages with upcycled materials. By the end of the week, you will have a series of abstract artworks created on paper and canvas! Teacher: Cyd Eva

Acting Fun

5-7 & 8-12 years

Learn to act! Through improvisation, scene study and various drama exercises and games, you will discover how to express yourself freely and confidently. Art Outside the Box

Nurture your imagination and curiosity by embarking on a storytelling journey. This creative class will explore unconventional ways of making art. You are encouraged to think outside the box as

Art Planet

Get inspired by Mother Earth and combine a variety of natural elements (such as rocks, leaves, twigs, feathers and shells) into your artwork. You will use recycled materials to create a picture frame, art mobile, nature mosaic and more, all while having fun and being kind to the planet!

Learn about our beautiful province by making art! You will study local Canadian artists while being inspired by the animals, plant-life and natural wonders in our backyard. There will be opportunities to explore a diversity of 2D and 3D mediums in this exciting, fun-filled week of admiring our local artists, landscapes, botanicals and wildlife that reside in British Columbia!

Cartooning and Character Design

11-14 years

Use your imagination to dream up characters! By practicing gesture, proportion and expressions, you will learn to conceptualize then draw fully-developed character designs in different stylizations for comics and animation. Teacher: Naomi Fong

Cartoony Comics

5-7 years

Learn to draw the world around you in cartoon form. You will learn to identify the basic shapes in everything around us, including yourself, to cartoon-ify it on paper! Teacher: Nick Stacey

Character Building and Storytelling

5-7 & 8-12 years

Developing fun and unique characters is key to any great story. Learn about character-building, creating a believable environment and staying in character! A theme or title will be selected for the improvised story of the day. You will role play your characters alongside your classmates and together we will discover how the story unfolds!

Clay and Sculpture

5-7 & 8-12 years

Create fun and unique 3D artworks using your imagination and creativity! You will work with a variety of materials including clay, paint and found objects to make one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Design, build and add colour to your creations in this hands-on class! One clay project will be fired and glazed. Teacher: Shaun Mallonga

Half Day: Week 2, Week 4 & Week 5

Clay Play

5-7 & 8-12 years

Use your imagination, get muddy and have fun creating unique clay projects. You will learn handbuilding techniques including slab construction, coiling and pinching to create cool creatures, cups, bowls and much more! Individual exploration is encouraged as you apply the techniques you have learned. Projects will be fired and painted or glazed with fabulous, vibrant colours. Teacher: Noelle Horrocks

Colour and Pattern Play

5-7 & 8-12 years

Explore colours and patterns! You will create abstract art while learning about the colour wheel and colour mixing through finger painting, collage, printmaking, drawing, painting and more. This is a fun and rewarding class for young artists of every skill level! Teacher: Cyd Eva

Comic Art

8-12 years

Combine words and pictures to tell a story! Learn about the techniques and fundamentals of graphic storytelling by observing the work of different comic artists. Then, use what you have learned to develop your characters and stories in your own comic strips or pages. Teacher: Nick Stacey

Creative Critters

5-7 & 8-12 years

Create art about animals, insects and nature! You will make mixed-media creations based on your favourite critters and the habitats they live in. Be inspired by and learn about mother nature and the magnificent creatures that we share our home with here on Earth! Teacher: Siobhan Cassidy

Creative Printmaking

5-7 & 8-12 years

Learn about different kinds of printmaking processes and explore the world of transferring images. You will learn about positive and negative space, develop new ways of observing objects and gain technical printing skills to express yourself creatively. Teacher: Mariana Frochtengarten

Half Day: Week 2 & Week 5

Dance and Movement

7-10 years

Learn new ways to express yourself while having fun in this movement-based class. Participate in a variety of dance and movement activities including stretching, yoga, movement games and dance choreography. You will also create art projects to use as dance props. Through fun activities and games, build your acting tool kit. Gain the confidence to work together with your classmates and use your imagination to create characters and stories. Teacher: Seamus Fera

Drawing Adventures

5-7 & 8-12 years

Learn to think creatively, develop hand-eye coordination, analyze and conceptualize your ideas through mark-making and drawing exploration. Experiment with a variety of drawing tools and surfaces, play with scale and proportion and combine different media to produce artwork. In addition to developing skills, this class will

Drawing and Painting: Tropical Animals

7-10 years

Explore drawing and painting techniques through animal-inspired art projects. Learn the essential elements of drawing and painting like size, texture and colour while capturing various tropical animals using pencil crayons, charcoal, markers, paint and more. Teacher: Stan Hunc

Full Day: Week 3

Dress to Express: Painted Denim Jacket

7-10 years

Upcycle clothing to make fierce fashion statements and express yourself. Learn about local and international upcycling designers and the sustainable Fashion Revolution. You will learn textile painting, stenciling, screen printing, make patches and paint a denim jacket to keep!

Supplies including a denim jacket and t-shirt will be provided, students are encouraged to bring old clothing and/or fabric to upcycle. Teacher:

Dress to Express: Sewing and Embroidery

11-14 years

Upcycling clothing is a great way to show off who you are and express yourself. You will be introduced to local and international upcycling designers and the sustainable Fashion Revolution. Learn hand sewing, machine sewing, embroidery and heat transfer vinyl techniques to transform vintage clothing into unique designs. Supplies included, students are encouraged to bring old clothing and/or fabric to upcycle. Teacher: Cyd Eva

Half Day: Week 3

Fabric Dyeing

11-14 years

Learn how to create beautiful, patterned papers and fabrics using tie-dye methods and principles of Japanese Shibori. Techniques include different ways of folding, pleating, tying, wrapping and stitching fabric before dyeing to create unique and surprising results. You will work with fabric and will have the opportunity to create a notebook, t-shirt and a bag. Supplies included, please bring a plain white cotton t-shirt for dyeing. Felting Fun

5-7 & 8-12 years

Felting to create material has a long textile history and is a popular way to create decorative and wearable items. Explore basic felt-making techniques through several projects such as beads, flat felting and more. Teacher: Catherine Dumaine

Flower Power Botanical Art

5-7 & 8-12 years

Nature is all around us, we can create art with it and make art about it! Learn about local and international artists who use nature as inspiration, then work with flowers and plants, both real and artificial, to make collages, prints, flowerpots, fake flower bouquets and a floral still life. Take in the natural beauty around you and use your unique interpretation of nature to create botanical art.

Fun with Fibre

11-14 years

Learn about fibres and their uses while creating beautiful, handmade projects. Explore a variety of techniques such as spinning and dyeing, warping and weaving on an inkle loom, weaving on a table loom and wet felting. Teacher: Catherine Dumaine

Fun with Improv

5-7 & 8-12 years

Explore the fundamentals of improv by creating believable environments and developing characters with many laughs along the way. Build your self-confidence, creative thinking, teamwork and listening skills through games and scene work which are essential for thinking on your feet.

Hip Hop and Breakdance

5-7 & 8-12 years

Explore the fundamentals of hip hop and breakdancing! Kick it old school with classic moves like the baby freeze and learn how to pop and lock, then combine the moves into a wicked piece! Wear comfortable clothing you can move in and non-marking, indoor running shoes or bare feet. Teacher: Ashley Binette

Hip Hop Kids

5-7 & 8-12 years

Dance to the rhythm of the music and learn some moves from a variety of hip hop styles! Classes will include many different movement and coordination games and fun activities. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in and non-marking, indoor running shoes or bare feet.

Jazz Dance

5-7 & 8-12 years

In this introduction to jazz dance, you will learn basic dance steps and techniques while moving along to some of your favourite music. You will develop coordination and musicality through engaging movement games and exercises. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in and non-marking, indoor running shoes or bare feet.

Mixed Media Art

5-7 & 8-12 years

Experiment, explore and play with a variety of 2D and 3D materials to create mixed-media masterpieces. Join us for a week full of investigation, observation, discovery and of course, art making! Teacher: Siobhan Cassidy

Mixed Media Creations

5-7 & 8-12 years

Discover the many possibilities of mixed media art by combining a variety of non-traditional art materials including shaving cream, bingo dabbers, toothpaste, fabric and colourful sand to create many amazing art projects like a self-portrait, your favourite animal, a wacky puppet, a mobile or a mask! Mixed Media Masterpieces

7-10 years

Experiment with collage, charcoal, inks, watercolour, wax, stamps and more! Combine a variety of art materials and different surfaces to create a variety of art in this class. Musical Theatre

Learn to dance, sing and act in this lively class! Mythological Masterpieces

Get ready for a mixed-media adventure! In this class, you will make art inspired by the great outdoors using watercolour and acrylic paints. You will also experiment with adding pastels to your artwork and unique collage elements inspired by nature. Explore the world around you and bring it to life through a variety of artistic techniques!

Pattern Explorers

Let your imagination run wild while creating amazing, colourful and vibrant pattern designs. From organic and random to geometric and repeating, there are no limits to your creativity when you apply these fun patterns to your own bookmark, card, gift wrap, mosaic or puzzle!

Pottery and Sculpture

11-14 years

Get the feel of working at the potter’s wheel and learn several handbuilding techniques to design and build ceramic sculptures and usable cups or bowls. Use clay to explore form, surface and subject while allowing your imagination to take flight! This class is open to beginners and experienced students. Projects from this class will be fired and glazed. You will receive an email from Place des Arts when your fired projects are ready for pick-up approximately three weeks after the class end date. Prints on Prints on Prints

Discover the basics of drawing, sketching and colour palettes as well as several printmaking techniques including mono-printing, relief printing, using gelli plates and more! Learn to layer printmaking techniques throughout the week to create colourful masterpieces. You will be invited to express your creative ideas with guided support. Each week will have new content and different printmaking methods will be explored.

Scene to Stage

Create scenes through improvisation exercises and workshop short scripts with direction. You will improvise, write and rehearse scenes that we will bring to life with minimal props and set design. Summer Fun Doodlers

7-10 years

In this class, a variety of drawing and painting activities will take you step-by-step through the process of creating an exciting mixed media project. You will work on a series of small drawing and painting projects that will become a part of a larger piece of artwork while learning technical skills, the basic principles of colour-making and the elements of visual composition. Come join Theatre Club where you will learn about physicality, voice work and character development. Violin 101

Weaving Fun

5-7 & 8-12 years

Explore fibre arts and create beautiful and functional one-of-a-kind treasures. Make a new project each day by spinning and dyeing, weaving on a table loom and more. You will gain hands on experience, develop colour sense and gain an understanding of how fibres can be transformed.

Learn to play drums and percussion instruments from around the world! You will play Taiko drums, hand drums, snare drums and more from all around the world. Private music lesson fees

Fee levels vary by instructor and begin at $26 per 30-minute lesson. Longer lesson times are also available. A registration fee of $5.00 for booking 1-3 lessons and a $15 fee for booking 4-12 lessons will be applied to summer private lesson registrations. Payment in full is due at the time of registration and is payable by cash, cheque, Interac (only available in-person), Visa, MasterCard or American Express. No refunds will be given for lessons missed by students.

Aouda Yen, Piano and Flute

Aouda holds a Master of Education degree in Arts Education from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Performing Arts from Capilano University. She is a certified educator of Royal Conservatory of Music and a member of the BC Richmond Music Teachers Association. Her teaching philosophy is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for students to explore, learn and grow.

Christina Krystecki, Piano

Christina received a master’s degree in Teaching and Composition from the Academy of Music in Gdansk, Poland. She teaches a variety of styles, from classical to jazz, constantly searching for new ways to nurture her students’ artistic development.

Frank Bond, Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar,

Piano

Frank has extensive experience as a live performer and has written music for TV, theatre and film. He aims to give his students a well-rounded ability on their instrument, allowing them to enjoy playing in whatever style(s) they choose.

Geeta Das, Woodwinds, Brass

Geeta is a professional musician who has been performing and teaching music around the world for over 20 years. She studied music at Douglas College, the University of British Columbia and privately in New York. She is well-versed in a variety of musical styles and loves to share her knowledge and passion with students.

Genevieve MacKay, Violin, Viola

Genevieve is a working musician who performs regularly and is an avid teacher of the violin/viola. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts from the University of British Columbia, where she performed in the Symphony Orchestra and the Early Music Ensemble. Her teaching philosophy is that music is fun and anyone can learn.

Irina Jilina, Piano

Irina is a member of the Piano Teachers

Federation and a Registered member of the RCM and the BC Registered Music Teachers’ Association. Many of her students successfully complete the RCM requirements for practical and theory examination at all levels.

Diploma from the Superior School of Music of the National Centre of the Arts, Mexico City. He has his Associate Diploma from the RCM and Licentiate Diploma from the British Columbia Conservatory of Music.

Kat Gillis, Voice

Kat studied Opera and Vocal Performance at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick and Jazz Performance at Vancouver Island University. She is excited to use her broad range of education and skills to share her passion for singing with students.

Krystal Morrison, Clarinet, Saxophone, Piano

Krystal possesses Masters’ degrees in both Performance and Musicology. An enthusiastic pedagogue, Krystal has taught at music schools throughout Canada. She aims to give students a change to pause, notice their habits, and ask, “is there a different way to approach this?”

Noel received a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Piano

Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Michigan and a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory. He has performed as a concerto soloist all over the world and his performances have been broadcast on CBC radio.

Rebecca Blair, Harp

Rebecca earned a master’s degree in Performance and Musicology from the University of Victoria. Rebecca’s approach to playing and teaching the harp draws on her classical background and combines it with her passion for Celtic music. Her teaching philosophy focuses on balancing disciplined technique with improvisation and creativity.

Sarab

Sarab graduated with a Teaching Diploma in Music and earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Al Baath University. Her teaching philosophy is “Believing, Achieving, and Serving.”

As an educator, she feels that it is important to set challenges for herself and strives to be a positive role model for her students.

Ashley trained with master teachers in tap, hip hop, jazz, musical theatre and ballet and is a professional dance and musical theatre performer for stage, TV and musical productions. She has over 20 years of experience in the performing arts industry.

Emily Mustard

Emily started her dance career at the age of 6 at Place des Arts. Growing up taking ballet classes with Lucienne Anczykowski as well as jazz and technique classes, she received several awards and scholarships. She then branched out into hip hop and street jazz, which is where she ultimately found her passion.

Lucienne is a certified Ballet teacher (Vaganova/ Russian Method) with professional teaching credentials from the University of Music in Warsaw. She performed with the Maurice Béjart Ballet du XXe Siècle in Belgium.

Stan Hunc

Stan is an art practitioner with ten years of formal art training (MFA and MEd) and lifelong practice. Currently, he works as a semiretired art instructor at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver and at Place des Arts in Coquitlam. Throughout the years, Stan’s work has been presented at individual and group art shows in Poland, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary, South Korea, China and Canada.

The camp I want to register my child for is full. Is there a waitlist?

Yes, we have waitlists for full camps. You can add your child to a waitlist online or call us at 604.664.1636 ext. 0 to be added.

Can my older child leave from camp on their own?

Should you wish your child(ren) to sign themselves out, please email summercamp@placedesarts.ca before your camp start date or speak to one of the staff at drop-off.

What if my child loses something?

Place des Arts is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Therefore, students are advised not to bring anything of value, including jewellery, money, expensive toys or electronics to camp. For lost items, please check the lost and found.

Can someone else pick up my child from camp?

An adult other than a parent/guardian may pick up your child(ren); however, at drop-off please provide Place des Arts staff with the name of the person who will be picking up your child(ren) and their relationship to the child(ren). This information allows us to ensure that your child(ren) stay safe.

Why is Place des Arts so strict on ages for Summer Fun! classes?

Our Summer Fun! classes are programmed based on the developmental abilities of each age group. By adhering to set age groups, we ensure a quality experience for all students in the class.

What’s up with the photographer?

Place des Arts maintains photographic and video archives of classes, workshops, exhibitions and events. Occasionally, we use these images for promotional print materials, advertisements and on the Place des Arts website and social media channels. Photos/videos may also be submitted to media outlets for promotional purposes. Photos/videos will not be lent or sold to any outside party. You will have an opportunity to provide or decline consent when you register your child(ren) for camp.

Can I watch my child’s class?

Families are not permitted in the classrooms. However, some performing arts teachers may invite friends and family to view the last portion of a Friday class. Parents/guardians will be informed via email by the middle of the week if your child(ren)’s camp(s) will be sharing what they’ve been working on.

At peak times or on event days, it may be difficult to find a parking spot; therefore, please leave enough time prior to your class or camp start time in case parking is limited. There is plenty of additional free parking nearby:

Drive-through drop-off zone

On the first day of camp, please come in with your child(ren) to drop them off and sign your child(ren) in. Throughout the rest of the week, if you have

provided your child(ren) permission to sign themselves in and out, you are welcome to use the drop-off zone by the main entrance to Place des Arts for quick drop-offs and pick-ups; however, please be advised of the following City regulations:

• The driver must remain in the vehicle in the drive-through drop-off zone;

• There is no parking or stopping for extended periods in the drive-through drop-off zone. It is to be used for quick drop-offs or pick-ups only;

• Double parking (i.e., side by side) is strictly prohibited.

East parking lot

City of Coquitlam by-laws prohibit parking on the side of the entrance to the east parking lot on top of the yellow painted “no parking” cross hatching.
