Place
Over fifty years ago, members of the Coquitlam Fine Arts Council had a dream, an idea for an arts centre, a welcoming place where many arts disciplines would be taught by skilled teachers. A place where the work of emerging artists and local artisans could be displayed and sold, and where events and festivals could be held, drawing people together to celebrate the arts. That dream became a reality when Place des Arts officially opened its doors to the public on December 1, 1972. Fifty years later, we are still here and proud to uphold the original vision of our organization. Reaching this significant milestone demonstrates the strength of that vision established half a century ago.

Then you finish your masterpiece by skillfully blending your brush strokes with your dog’s paw painting. The outcome is an abstract, personalized work of art - in collaboration with your dog! Canvases, non-toxic paints and tasty tidbits for canines will be provided. Need something a bit more “inspirational?” Purchase a mimosa or glass of wine from the bar! One dog per human participant; all dogs must be up to date with vaccinations and leashed at all times—no retractable leashes, please.
Join us for our annual celebration of Scotland’s National Bard, Robbie Burns!
