City of Pleasant Hill Climate Action Plan TheCityofPleasantHillrecentlybegandraftingits firstever2025ClimateActionPlan(CAP).TheCAP willbearoadmapoutliningtargets,timelines,and strategiesforreducinggreenhousegas(GHG) emissions,whilepromotingsustainable development,resilience,andequitythroughout thecommunity.
TheCityintendstoadopttheCAPby2026andwillincludetargetsthatreflect thosesetbySenateBill32(SB32)toreduceGHGemissionsby40percentbelowthe 1990levelsby2030andAssemblyBill1279(AB1279)thatrequiresachievingcarbon neutralityby2045.
TheCityhasselectedaconsultant,BlueStrikeEnvironmental(BSE),toassistin creatingtheCAP.BSEhitthegroundrunningandhasstarteddatacollection, researchingbestpracticesandapplicableregionalplans,andstartedapreliminary frameworkfortheCAP.InlateJanuaryandearlyFebruary,theCityheldtwocommunityworkshopstocollectfeedbackonbestpracticesfrommembersofthe public,localnon-profitgroups,localandregionalagencies,andallotherinterested partiesthatwillshapetheCity’sCAP.

Permit-Ready Accessory Dwelling Unit (PRADU) Program TheCityispleasedto announceitsnew“Permit ReadyAccessoryDwellingUnitProgram” (“PRADU”)tostreamline thepermittingforhomeowner’sseekingto constructadetached AccessoryDwellingUnit (ADU).ADUsareseparateresidentialdwelling unitsthatprovidecompleteindependent livingfacilities(kitchen, bathroom,livingspace)locatedona lotwithaproposedorexistingprimaryresidence.
Homeownersmayalsochoose betweenthreeuniqueexteriorelevation styles,Bungalow,CaliforniaRanchand Modern.
Throughtheprogram,PleasantHill homeownerscandownloadpre-approved, building-permit-levelplansforthree uniquedetachedADUsasfollows:

Whatisphishing? “Phishing”referstothefraudulentpracticeofsendingemailsortext messagesclaimingtobefromreputablecompaniestopersuadeindividuals todivulgepersonalinformation,suchaspasswordsandcreditcardnumbers.Inmanyofthesecases,thesetextmessagesandemailswillinclude linksthatwillpromptyoutoawebsitewhereyou’reaskedtoenterpersonal information.

Demandingunusualformsofpayment. Noreputableagency,likethe IRS,willrequirepaymentusinggiftcardsorothernon-standardmethods.
Linksthataren’tforlegitimatewebsites.Receiveanemailthatyoudon’t recognizeanditincludesalink?Hoveryourmouseoverthelink,but don’t clickit. Lookattheaddressthatpopsupwhenyouhoveroverthelink. Askyourselfifthataddress matchesthelink thatwastypedinthemessage.Ifnot,itisbogus.
