efore I dig in too deep, I want to say how thankful. I am to Eddy Parker. You have no idea how much this means to me, and I’m honored you’ve given me the opportunity to bring one of “our” childhood memories back to its glory days. Thank you for preserving this amazing 1870’s historic building, and all the incredible craftsmanship you’ve already poured into it. I can’t wait to hear more stories from you and see how it all unfolds! Born and raised in my hometown of Comanche, Tx this building has been several things. However, I remember it as the old “Service Drug” (Ryan Huett). It was the go-to place for everything! Walking inside this building instantly took me back to those days. When I moved away to Nashville, to pursue my music career, they sent me out on radio tour. I can still remember, like it was yesterday, meeting with radio stations and telling my story. My story was all about the love of music, but also the love for my hometown, and that I hoped one day I’d be able to give back and contribute in some way restoring the square to what it once was growing up. I’m pretty sure my radio rep with Lyric Street Records, Renee Bledsoe Leymon, probably got tired of hearing about it three times a day for months! (Sorry, Renee) How cool is it that this story has become a reality? It just makes my heart want to explode with joy. As a child growing up only five ft tall, I was always very determined. I was raised that if you want something bad enough or work for it hard enough, the odds are in your favor! Where there’s a will there’s a way! My mom Vickie Gore Harvick would come home after work and ponder on how I was able to move all the living room furniture by myself and change everything around Lol I just loved it. I loved/ love being creative, a challenge, coming up with a vision, and then just make it become a reality. I’m blessed I get to do something I love so much. We have BIG plans for this awesome building, and some amazing colorations in the works for this awesome historic 1870’s building. So much character and history. I still can’t get over how magical the light is, flooding through the huge picture windows and transoms. It is definitely my favorite part. I can't wait to share it all! Until then, here are a few pictures for anyone who also loves history, or just wants to stroll down your own memory lane. This small-town girl's dream is coming true! We hope to get started in a couple of weeks and will divulge all the plans for this beauty. We will be documenting all the details and sharing the entire process. The good+bad+finds+finish.
