If you want to develop your knowledge and understanding of agricultural practices and systems, supported by current management practices, this course is for you. As an agriculture student, you will be based at Fronlas Farm in Newtown, a 350-acre working upland sheep and beef farm with purpose-built classrooms, workshops, cattle and sheep housing and handling facilities. We aim to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in agriculture through a combination of academic study, practical classes, work experience and study visits.

Entry Requirements

Typical entry requirements require applicants to have a minimum of 48 UCAS tariff points, GCSE English at grade C/4 or above, or an equivalent qualification.

Applications are considered on their individual merits and we welcome applications from mature students who may be unable to meet the formal entry requirements but can demonstrate the ability to study at this level through personal, professional or other educational experience.

Progression Opportunities

On successful completion of this programme, you could progress to level 6 study, such as the final year of a related degree programme.

Through independent research, practical application in our restaurant Blasus and theory lessons, you will develop a broad range of skills and subject knowledge. Topics studied may include restaurant operations, purchasing, sustainability and marketing to provide insight into managing hospitality and catering organisations more effectively.
