We are looking for a dedicated individual to teach a beginners-level reading course focused on teaching sight words, forming sentences, using words correctly in a sentence, and putting words in alphabetical order.
This class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
There are no qualifications needed to volunteer for this opportunity. However, those who are not retired teachers will need to complete our online tutors training before starting.
The expected duration of this volunteer opportunity is from December 11 to April 30. If you have any questions, please contact Noah Palm at noahp@nhpeoria.org.

We’ve been hard at work opening Meals on Wheels congregate sites throughout Peoria and Ta
re constantly evaluating and adapting our programs to meet the evolving needs of the Peoria community. Recently, our Food Pantry Subcommittee made an exciting update to our system, rearranging our shelves so clients the freedom to choose the foods that best suit their personal needs and those of their families as opposed to a pre-packaged box.
As this program continues to grow, we’re always looking for passionate volunteers to help make a difference. You can assist by guiding clients through the pantry line or restocking shelves to ensure a smooth experience for everyone. Food Pantries are held every 2nd and 4th Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon.
