QUARTER4:APRIL-JUNE2024
PILOT CLUB
Thanks to the Pilot Club of Peoria’s generosity, we were able to purchase gardening supplies for our Youth Progam’s Seedfolks project. This project will teach students about nutrition, growing their own food, and giving back to the community. See the progress our students have made throughout the summer by coming to our open house! This event will be hosted at 1020 S. Matthew St. Peoria, IL 61605 on Monday, July 22nd from 10-11am.

AT WAREHOUSE ON STATE

DOLLAR GENERAL
We are the very gracious recipients of funds from Dollar General for our Adult Literacy Program. Can you remember a time when you’ve been asked to round up your total for donation? Well, those funds do go toward grants like this one! So, next time you’re at Dollar General, round up, and some of your donations can be used to support our Adult Learners as they continue their education.
COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF CENTRAL IL
Community Foundation has consistently supported several of our programs through their grants. This quarter, we were awarded the Community Arts Grant and Jean M. Ligon Animal Welfare Grant which will fund our Youth Art and Critters Meals on Wheels programs, respectively. Community Foundation is a great example of the incredible generosity expressed throughout the Peoria Community, and we want to thank them and their supporters for all they give to Neighborhood House.

OTHER GRANT FUNDERS THIS QUARTER

Congregate Sites
Our Meals on Wheels program has expanded with two new senior congregate sites. The new sites are in Hopedale and Washington with the existing one still being in Tremont. Congregate sites provide a hot meal and socialization for those over the age of 60 and are offered free of charge, eliminating common barriers facing the senior population.

Summer Camp

Since the beginning of June, our youth program has hosted 40 kids ages 5-15 for an all-day summer camp. Throughout their day, they participate in enrichment activities, receive two hot meals and a snack, and go on fun field trips. This summer we’re focusing on nutrition with a gardening program based on Seedfolks and a trip to Kuna Foods for a cooking lesson.
