Our Future Leaders

The Rt Hon Sir Stephen Timms visited Rokeby School last week to discuss inflation, rubbish, crime, immigration and future opportunities for Newham with students. He is the Labour MP for East Ham and has been an MP continually since 9 June 1994. He currently holds the Government post of Minister of State (Department for Work and Pensions).
Students from our School Council, Equalities Group, prefects and those who have considered a career in politics had the opportunity to meet with him for a Q&A Students from Sarah Bonnell, Eastlea and Selwyn schools also attended to ask questions and be part of the event.

Visit to the Royal Festival Hall
The GCSE Music group had the opportunity to go to the Royal Festival Hall on Wednesday to see an inspiring concert performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The music and engaging presentation was designed especially for school audiences and the concert included a presenter breaking down the music in a fun and engaging way, there was even a big screen behind the orchestra which picked out key elements from the music or story.

We welcomed back our Y11 students to collect their GCSE certificates and reflect on their journey at Rokeby School. They had time to catch up with each other and their teachers over some food before having a reflection assembly with Ms Bailey, Mr Sarumi and Mr Lastiotis. It was great to see them and we wish them well for the future.
