An inspirational talk by Levison Wood entitled ‘Daring to explore’’

Levison is a history graduate who circumnavigated the whole of Central America and part of the River Nile on foot. Other accolades include walking the length of the Himalayan Mountain range from Afghanistan to Bhutan and a 500 mile expedition across the Arabian Peninsula. His talk taught us to be adventurous and get out of our comfort zone. The talk ended with a significant saying;

‘Instead of asking what you want to be in the future, ask yourself who you want to be in the future.’

“I learnt a valuable lesson: ‘Confidence and experience are born out of adventure’. Risk, challenge and adventure teaches us life skills such as resourcefulness, self awareness and teamwork skills. It taught me about resilience and bravery. Wood taught me that even if we are unable to go to the Nile or to Mount Everest, to practise stepping out of our comfort zone in our day to day lives for example you can make a lifelong friend out of a stranger ” Samiul

“I really enjoyed listening to Levison Wood’s speech about being an explorer. It really taught me the value of exploration and experiencing new things” Ajmain

“Levison Wood advised us to network with people This shows the power of networking and where it can get you due to the vast variety and diversity of the world around us Levison also inspired us to be ambitious and keep following your dreams and we must strive to reach those outcomes.” Shadel
