SUMMER READING PROGRAM

ISTOGA PUB CAL LIBRARY LIC

Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11am-3pm Director of Library Services and Community Outreach

All are welcome to the grand re-opening celebration of the Calistoga Library!

Danis Kreimeier

Summer’s in full swing now and that means it’s time for our annual Summer Reading Program for children, teens and adults. This year’s theme is “Party On! @ the Library.” What better theme could we have at the mid-point of our 100th anniversary as a library system? We encourage everyone to come in, sign up, attend some of our dozens of programs this summer and read, read, read. Some of our fun activities for the summer include puppet shows, magic acts, sewing workshops and 3D printing. We’re making it even easier for everyone to participate by offering online participation again this year. To sign up online visit napa.readingbydesign.org All age groups are eligible for prize drawings and the children’s programs include milestone rewards to help encourage kids along the way. Special thanks to the Bookmine for their annual support, as well as the Meritage Resort and Spa and the Napa Valley Wine Train. Participating in our Summer Reading Program is an easy way for kids to avoid summer learning loss and adults to catch up on all those great books they keep saying they’ll get around to “when I have time.” So come one, come all and Party On!

Who better to cover the Paralympics, the international sporting event for athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities, than Niko von Glasow, the world’s best-known disabled filmmaker? Mark Landis is one of the most prolific art forgers of the modern era—and he isn’t in it for the money. In the last 30 years he’s copied hundreds of pieces, from 15th-century icons to works by Picasso and even Dr. Seuss, then donated them to museums across the country.
