A 38-year-old man of Walvis Bay lost his life on Wednesday morning when he was allegedly stabbed with a sharp object while sitting in a taxi. He died in the vehicle. Detective Chief Inspector Erastus Iikuyu of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in Walvis Bay identified the deceased as Joseph Ndeyapo Hekandjo. The next of kin of the deceased were informed. He was stabbed once in the chest while sitting in the passenger seat. The incident occurred at AP Lounge in the Kuisebmond residential area at around 03:00 after the deceased, who works at the lounge, allegedly got into an argument with four male customers. It is not known what caused the argument and the fight. Hekandjo, who works as a security guard and gambling assistant, allegedly fired warning shots after the quarrel and stopped a taxi to take him home. Four men then allegedly punctured the tyres of the taxi before one of them entered the vehicle via the rear passenger seat, grabbed the Continues on page 2
