Each IB operative was caught by at least two of Verma’s guards and taken into Verma’s bungalow and asked to reveal their identity. The men had been seen in their cars since Wednesday night, raising suspicion that they were spying on Verma. As a video showing the men being dragged by Verma’s security officers went viral, the IB admitted that the men were its operatives. Four men were handed over to Delhi Police and

Rahul questions CBI chief’s removal
Stepping up offensive against the government for forcing the CBI director to go on leave, Congress chief
Rahul Gandhi dubbed the action as “illegal” and a “panic reaction” to cover up Rafale deal evidence. Congress asserted the government action was “illegal” and an “insult” to the Constitution, the Chief Justice of India and the leader of the opposition. Reiterating that there was a link between the government action and the Rafale deal, Gandhi said, “The entire country knows that the CBI was about to begin investigation into the role of the prime minister in the Rafale scam. That is why the CBI director was removed at 2 am in the morning...” he said. Cong to protest in CBI offices: Congress president Rahul Gandhi will lead the party as it stages protests outside all CBI offices across the country on Friday, demanding reinstatement of CBI director Alok Verma. Gandhi tweeted he will lead the party’s protests outside the CBI headquarters in CGO complex in the national capital. “Tomorrow, outside CBI offices nationwide, the Congress party will protest the PM’s disgraceful attempt to prevent an investigation
into the Rafale scam, by removing the CBI Chief. I will lead the protests outside CBI HQ in Delhi, at 11 AM,” he said BJP rebuts Rahul’s charges: BJP Thursday accused Congress president Rahul Gandhi of “manufacturing lies” as it dubbed his linking the government’s decision to send the CBI director on leave with the Rafale deal as “hallucination”, claiming that the country has never seen such “childish politics”. Union minister Prakash Javadekar also lashed out at Gandhi over his attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he has crossed all limits of decency by using “abuses” for Modi. But this will have no impact on people who are “more mature” than the Congress chief, he asserted. As the Congress has lost all hopes to be relevant, Gandhi has begun seeing Rafale aircraft even in his dreams and manufactures one lie after another, Javadekar told a press conference to counter Gandhi’s claims. The Congress president failed on “matter, method and manners” in his briefing, he said.
