eVIN training held in Nagaland NMM mission DIMAPUR: Inaugural programme for the last batch training on eVIN for Cold Chain Handlers commenced for Mokokchung and Mon districts from September 6 to 7 with 50 participants at Hotel De Oriental Grand, chaired by PO Egumsing Nsarangbe UNDP. Short exhortation was shared by additional director, DoH & FW, Nagaland, Dr. Limaakum Jamir. Word of encouragement was given by state immunisation officer, Dr. Visasieü Kire to the participants followed by vote of thanks by senior project officer, UNDP Nagaland, Kingson Kamkara. Senior Project Officer–Vaccine Logistics & Cold Chain GAVI Health System Strengthening UNDP from national office, Abhimanyu Saxena was present as an observer. In Nagaland, more than 250 government staff including vaccine store-keepers and cold chain handlers was trained on mobile and Web-based eVIN application. Nearly 150 temperature loggers would be installed at over 130 vaccine stores and cold chain points in all 11 districts for accurate temperature review.

DIMAPUR: Southern Angami Catholic Youth Association (SACYA) under the banner, “have faith in God (Mark 11:22) organized a three-day camp for Southern Angami Catholic Juniors’ Association (SACJA) at Mary Help of Christians Church Jakhama from October 7 to 9. The resource persons were Rev. Vilezo George, sister Neiketunuo Catherine Thakro, Ursuline Franciscan Congregation (UFC), Vocation Promotor, Tabor Provincialate, Dimapur, Khrievino Elizabeth, Zhoto Stephen and Tosovi Philip, who spoke on various topics. During the camp there were various competitions like choir singing and quiz. The best choir were Phesama, Mima and Viswema; quartet Mima, Jakhama and Phesama; solo Khuzama, Kidima and New Reserve (Phesama) and quiz, Jakhama, Kidima and New Reserve (Phesama) won first, second and third position with the best quizer Rokoseno New Reserve (Phesama). included five trainers. The training included knowledge on machinery and equipment required for the trade giving all necessary instructions for use and minor repairs. Toy-inverse, stuffing and finishing and pattern-making/ paper-cutting for 3 items were taught in the training. The training concluded with a brief interaction session attended by the general manager, DIC-Kohima and his staff. Lounyüle was awarded the best trainee for her dedication throughout the course. Meanwhile, the trainees thanked the Dept. of Industries & Commerce, and Lady Bug for conducting the training and expressed their willingness to continue with the trade from the knowledge they gained. Altogether, 15 participants attended the programme as trainees.
Nutrition Day at Financial Literacy Camp Meluri Village conducted at Mekuli village
DIMAPUR: Meluri village health committee conducted nutrition day at Meluri village on October 6. In a press note by chairman, Vichutho Nyusou altogether 42 children and 2 pregnant women attended the camp. All necessary immunization for the children and nutritional intake were provided for the day. Meluri Block ASHA co-ordinator and 3 ASHA workers of Meluri village assisted the proceedings. Earlier, Meluri Lady Health Visitor (LHV) highlighted the importance of regular immunization and the necessity for maintaining nutritional diet to the children specially to (1-5) year old and pregnant women.
DIMAPUR: To promote the cause of Financial Literacy/inclusion, one-day Financial Literacy Camp (FLC) supported under FIF managed by NABARD was conducted at Edited Douglas Higher Secondary School on October 7. The camp was organized by Care and Support Society, Mokokchung in collaboration with Bank of Baroda, Mokokchung sponsored by NABARD. During the programme, DDM, NABARD, S. Amarjit Mangang shared the role played by NABARD in financial inclusion. He advised the students to inculcate the habit of saving and explained in detail the importance of having a saving account. Amarjit encouraged the students to cut down unneces-
sary expenditure. He further shared in detail the farmers club, SHG, and WCC & JLG programme, PMMY and Stand Up India scheme and advised the students to share the information about these schemes to their parents, neighbours and farmers. DIMAPUR: Three-day mission leaders envisioning camp was organized by Nagaland Missions Movement (NMM) the Missions Department of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) from September 28 to 30, at Himcorce, Siliguri. The main speaker of the programme was Ethnos Asia International director, Rev. Sonny Largado. Mission perspectives from Tibet, Bhutan and Himalayas were also presented by Reverend Phurpu, Reverend Timothy and Reverend Asinlo Khing. Altogether, 34 mission leaders from different associations under NBCC and some missionaries attended the camp. NMM further expressed their gratitude to Rev. Sonny and the Ethnos Asia team for their support and input during the programme.

DIMAPUR: One day field visit of RKVY Sericulture farmers was inspected by Yanger Ao Dy. Director of Sericulture (Nagaland) on September 26, at Pughoboto and VK area under Zunheboto. During the inspection, deputy director lauded the extension officer N. Tsenyimo Humtsoe for systematic implementation, site selection and abundant availability of Eri host plantation. Meanwhile, he interacted with the farmers and highlighted the importance of Eri host plants and quality leaves which enhance rearing performance. He also noted rearing of silkworm is a fast cash crop. Later, he encouraged the farmers to take up sericulture and work with enthusiasm as sericulture is low investment and high return.
