Zeliangrong Baudi Kohima condemns Nov 10 firing incident

DIMAPUR: Zeliangrong Baudi Kohima (ZBK) has condemned the November 10 firing incident at Mission Compound wherein an unidentified gunman fired at Kadingdai, a NNC member of Zeliangrong region. In a condemnation note, ZBK said that, such “inhuman” act cannot

He therefore encouraged the gathering to utilize the infrastructure properly and to maintain hygiene in the market which would be the outlet for rural farmers, apart from providing fish to the consumer. Short speech was delivered by NFDB officer in-charge Sanjay Sharma where he encouraged the gathering to maintain hygiene and assured to provide assistance even in the days to come. Fishery department additional director Imti Longkumer also spoke at the programme. Earlier, the programme was chaired by DMC deputy director Dr. H Inato Jimomi, invocation prayer was pronounced by SBAB pastor Hekato Awomi, welcome and keynote address was delivered by DMC, administrator H. Atokhe Aye where he mentioned about the objective and benefits of fisheries.

ABCC condoles

Dimapur: Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC) was deeply saddened by the passing away of Dr. Satuo Sekhose, a pillar and stalwart of the Council on November 8. In a condolence note by executive director ABCC stated that Dr. Satuo served as its president from 1984-1985, and then 1990-1995. He also served as the chairman of the managing board of Baptist English School (now Baptist High), a premier school in Kohima owned by ABCC from 1962-1964. It further said that he was very involved in the establishment of Shalom Bible Seminary by being the chairman of its governing body from 1996 -2007. Besides shouldering these responsibilities for the Council, both he and predeceased wife Khrieü had been all out in every possible way in serving the council. The council while mourning the deep loss also pray for abiding peace and consolation to the family members.

Alumni Association SCTE launches constitution

KOHIMA, NOV 12 (NPN): To establish network among the past student-teachers in order to promote unity and fraternity among the alumni SCTE, the Alumni Association SCTE Kohima has launched its official constitution today at the conference Hall, SCTE Kohima. Secretary finance, Alumni Association Kedosakgho said the objective of the association was also to maintain a close rapport with matters of the institute by providing feedbacks and collaborating in its growth and development, felicitate and promote the exchange of ideas and experiences among the teaching community. Further he said it envisages establishing linkage among the stakeholders and educationist to address the issue of educational concern, promote an attitude of ethical standard and integrity among the alumni and to assist and collaborate with other agencies in bringing about change in the educational system. Coordinator of various districts delivered greetings at the launching programme while president Alumni Association, Daniel Thong chaired the programme.

TMPPS, Longjang picnic cum get together held at Mening river

Parliamentary secretary of Geology & Mining, Dr Imtiwapang Aier along with the TMPPS members and village council members of Longjang, Sungratsu and Longpa. DIMAPUR: The Tzur Multi-purpose Project Society (TMPPS) today held its picnic cum get-together at the Longpong river bridge area with parliamentary secretary of Geology and Mining, Dr Imtiwapang Aier as the special guest. The TMPPS picnic was joined in by the village council members of neighboring villages from Sungratsu and also from Longpa village. While speaking at a short formal programme, Dr. Imtiwapang underscored the importance of NGOs and civil societies in the world. While congratulating the TMPPS, Dr Aier asserted that it was the NGOs, that have played a proactive role

in the world from the time of the World War II and even to this day. He therefore, called upon the TMPPS members to play an active role in the society, keeping their motto “new vision” in their mind, for the uplift of the village and society. He also expressed happiness at the presence of the village council members of Longjang, Sungratsu and Longpa and expressed hope that such coming together of the villages would be the foundation for furthering the feeling of love, unity and fraternity among the different villages in the Asetkong range. The Tsur Multi-purpose Project Society (TMPPS) Longjang was established in the year 2005 under the patronage of the Longjang village council. A small dam has been constructed over the Tzur river and the resultant lake formed after the dam construction has been transformed into a fishery pond. The TMPPS members disclosed that the society has plans to construct a resort for tourists who visit the village. Longjang is one of the biggest villages in Asetkong range in Mokokchung town.

Seized liquors destroyed

DIMAPUR: Destr uction of liquor seized in connection with various Longleng P.S cases was carried out in full public view on November 12 at NST junction, main town, Longleng as per the provision U/S 451 Cr. P.C, in the presence of assistant public prosecutor Abraham, additional SP, Yanger Jamir, EAC probationers Renbithung Jami

and O.C Sukhalu Chishi and with representatives from various NGO’s. Before the disposal of the seized liquors a short program was held chaired by asst. P.P and short speeches were delivered by Phomla Hoichem president A. Shamthai, Phom People’s Council vice president H. Tenchem and addl. S.P. Yanger Jamir. Destruction of Liquor at Longleng.
