BJP state executive meet ‘Anti Leprosy Day’ observed in Kohima
DIMAPUR: The 4th state executive meeting of BJP Nagaland has been scheduled for March 2 and 3, at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur. A press note by BJP Nagaland, general secretary (Admn) & spokesperson, Jaangsillung Gonmei stated that meeting would commence on March 2 with registration of delegates at 1 p.m followed by meeting at 2 p.m. The attendance of entitled members comprising of state executive
members inclusive of state office bearers, permanent invitees of party legislators, presidents and general secretaries of districts and state frontals, former state presidents and special invitees shall be mandatory. State executive members have been revised. All the presidents of state frontals and districts are informed to have their detailed reports ready for presentation on the first day.

DIMAPUR: Department of Power organized a farewell programme in honour of its outgoing Engineerin-Chief, Er. K. Miachieo on February 28, at the conference hall, electricity house, Kohima. According to DIPR repor t, in his farwell speech, Er. K. Miachieo thanked God for helping him complete another stage of life. Fondly recalling his service years, he mentioned that he joined the department as SDO (Electrical) in 1982. Considering himself as the luckiest officer of the department, he gave much credit to the officers and staff for the successful completion of his service. Incoming engineerin-chief, Er. DIMAPUR: Prison department organized a farewell programme in honour of outgoing officer Prison HQs, Inspector General of Prisons, Kedi Angami on February 28 at conference hall, Kohima. Speaking at the programme, director general of Prisons, Civil Defenses and Home Guards, Nagaland, Rupin Sharma while appreciating his contribution towards the department, described Kedi Angami as a spontaneous officer who disposed matters and files instantly. Kedi Angami in his farewell speech encouraged the officers of the department to endeavour towards up-liftment of prison reformation and rehabilitation of inmates. The farewell function was attended by representatives from all jails of Nagaland, Prison Service Association Nagaland (PSAN) and the directorate staff.

DIMAPUR: Department of Economics and Statistics felicitated its newly inducted parliamentary secretary of Economics and Statistics, Tovihoto on February 28 at DES conference hall, Kohima. According to DIPR report, Tovihoto stated that the department of Economics and Statistics was the backbone of the government and the department had been functioning as a nodal department with huge responsibilities. He sought the support of the officers and staffs to render their guidance and co-operation to
achieve greater heights. He reminded the staff to create peaceful environment while discharging their duties and to have sense of responsibility for the betterment of the department. He also informed that the new directorate building was on the verge of completion. Giving a brief presentation of the department, secretary of Economics and Statistics, Kevilenuo Angami said that the government declared the department as the nodal agency for dissemination of data in the year 2009

DIMAPUR: In view of “Sparsh Leprosy Awareness Campaign” from January 30 to February 13, a brief function was organized to observe AntiLeprosy Day on February 28 in DC’s office chamber, Kohima. DIPR reported that during the observance the DC Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan stated that Leprosy was still a problem in our district/country. DC stated that if leprosy was identified and diagnosed early then it was completely curable and physical disfigurement could be prevented. The duration of treatment is either six or 12 months. He stated that MDT was sure cure for leprosy and appealed not to discriminate the person affected by leprosy.
