ABAM holds E-God event

the Dimapur area youth directors were the resource persons covering the area of building Christian leadership and creating God fearing society. They spoke of four encountering stages in leadership, namely forming, storming, norming and performing. With the assimilation of the four stages a Christian leader could create a God fearing society. Besides theoretical teachings, there were practical teachings as well. The practical lessons ended with a display on Heaven and hell. Altogether 337 youths inclusive of youth directors and youths from 90 Ao Baptist Churches attended the programme.

DIMAPUR: Notun Bosti Council Dimapur (NBCD) has informed all the dog owners of Notun Bosti to properly chain and control their pets failing which the council said it would be compelled to issue shoot at sight order from April 10. In a press note, NBCD chairman E.Jon Ezung and secretary Kavito Ayemi stated that the council have repeatedly issued warning but the owners have failed to comply with the order of the council. The council said dogs found loitering around the colony jurisdiction would be shot at sight. The council also further informed the residents not to throw garbage at the road side or any places around the colony jurisdiction. The council cautioned that stern action would be initiated against the defaulters.

DIMAPUR: Review meeting for first quarter (2017-2018) of Longleng District was held at IDSP Hall, Chief Medical Office on Wednesday with Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Ritu Thurr as

the chairperson. While delivering the keynote address, CMO Dr. Ritu highlighted the importance of the meeting and encouraged the staffs to be regular in the office. Dr. Ritu cautioned that

irregular staffs would be dealt with seriously. CMO also requested the ANM’s, GNM’s and the paramedics to be regu-

lar and to be sincere in their service as they were the backbone of the medical department. D r. DIMAPUR: Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Burma Camp & Urban Primary Health Centre(UPHC), Duncan Bosti, Dimapur conducted free medical camps at 18 colonies under the DMC jurisdiction during the month of March. Residents of Zakiesatuo, Lotha church ,Oriental colony, Kyong colony, Chakhesang colony, PWD, Supply colony and LRC colony free camp was conducted by UPHC Duncan Bosti whereas bank colony, police colony, circuit house, DAM, Rengma colony, Rangailong colony, Dr Haralu I &II was covered by UPHC Burma Camp. The initiative was headed by the MO i/c UPHC, Burma Camp, MO i/c Duncan Bosti, Urban Consultant, GNMs, ANMs along with other NUHM staffs of both the UPHCs supported

by the Urban ASHA . Altogether, 1,411 patients of elderly people, pregnant women and children availed the free health services and free medicines. DAPCU mobile ICTC team and Urban Malaria team also attended the camps where patients were tested for HIV and malaria respectively. Counseling on proper nutrition & sanitation, importance of ANC & PNC checkup was provided to the people. The camp turned out to be a success with the targeted people turning up for the health service. It is to be noted that NUHM has coverage of 23 Wards in Urban Dimapur and conducts free health camps every month within its respective jurisdiction. Team further thanked the Chairman and GBs of the colonies for their support and cooperation during the camp.

NECU inaugurates office

DIMAPUR: The North East Christian University (NECU) inaugurated its city office at Anchor Complex, East Block Burma Camp behind Bible Society of India (BSI) on April 5. In the program chaired by Rev. Dr. Z. Keyho, general secretary NBCC, chancellor NECU Rev. Dr. L. Anjo Keikung shared in brief about the university. The program was attended by Prof (Dr). Darlando Khathing vice chancellor, NECU and his wife, Governing Council Members of NECU, Rev. Dr. Rochill auxiliary secretary BSI, Rev. C. Amop Noklang director NDO and pastors from Dimapur Phom Baptist Church and Khiamniungan Baptist Church Dimapur. Vice chancellor NECU pronounced the vote of thanks and Dr. Keyho dedicated the NECU office with prayer.

The festival was hosted by the minister and his family. Aoleang Monyiu Festival is an annual festival of the Konyaks and celebrated in the first week of April. The festival is celebrated to honour and pay tribute to the departed souls, it is also a time for thanksgiving for abundant blessing of the past year and invoking the blessing for coming year. Aoleang festival is also a time to forgive and forget misunderstandings and antagonism of the past and start with the new life.
