Childrens’ Garden Festival: The Very Hungry Caterpillar opening June 3-11

Inspired by Eric Carle’s book The Hungry Caterpillar Join us in the Gardens as we take a journey through a caterpillar’s transformation into a beautiful butterfly. The Children’s Garden will transform into a colorful and magical place inspired by Eric Carle’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Enjoy crafts, activities and imaginative displays that will capture the essence of one of the most beloved children’s stories.

FREE for members. Cost for nonmembers is $6 per person, $10 per person for Crystal Bridge and The Very Hungry Caterpillar package. FREE for members of the Gardens and FREE for children 2 and under. To become a member join online at myriadgardens.org.

Join us Saturdays during The Very Hungry Caterpillar for an interactive reading of some of Eric Carle’s most beloved colorful nature stories. Audience members will have the chance to participate in the story and be the caterpillar, brown bear and other creatures as we read through these charming stories.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is not the only caterpillar that’s hungry. Did you know caterpillars can eat three times their weight in food every day? In this class, we’ll learn all about the fascinating caterpillar with fun facts, interactive readings, a craft and a game to wrap it all up.

SATURDAY JUNE 10, 10AM-5PM Book Exchange & Author Visits The Children’s Garden Porch

Bring your child’s slightly used books and exchange them with other families or donate them to Gardens’ Little FREE library. It will be a day to celebrate reading at the Gardens. We will have local authors from Oklahoma onsite leading story times and other book related activities. Come celebrate the joy of reading with us. All ages welcome!

Calling all volunteers! Join us as we transform our Children’s Garden into a brightly colored world. We need volunteer help to assist with crafts, activities and imaginative displays.
