MON-Key

“Hey Key Clubbers! It’s time to lock in for another successful year! Can we make it to 1000 Montana District members this year? Here’s my quick advice on how to ensure your club’s success in October! The start of the school year is the best time to recruit members to join in on your service adventures and increase your membership. If each club in Montana can increase their previous year’s membership by 5-10 more members, we should be able to reach 1000 members for the centennial year of Key Club International! Encourage freshmen to join to make an impact in their community, advertise at school assemblies, hold a booth at lunch, and more. The more members you have, the more service you can achieve.
The Early Birds dues deadline is November 1st, and it is beneficial to turn your club dues in early to register more members under your club and give them the opportunity to earn awards, attend District events, run for higher office, and access the Global Leadership Certificate (GLC). The GLC is a course on essential skills for leadership development, and International is working to secure college accreditation in the next year or so! Encourage dues-paid membership by holding an induction ceremony, offering fun incentives, promoting its opportunities, and/or offering graduation cords for members!”

“Youth Conference (YC) is the district event that helps engage members and generate excitement about the service year! YC is hands-on allowing members to participate in service projects and a variety of workshops. One of my favorite memories from YC is the E-Lemon-ate fundraiser, where members ran around with lemon slices in their mouths!”
“The Youth Conference is a great way to meet and grow closer to clubs from around Montana. It can also help you become more familiar with aspects of the District and International levels of Key Club. I enjoyed watching movies and playing games with other Key Clubbers during th s.”
“At Youth Conference you will learn lessons that will aid your home club in a successful service year as well as in your personal Key Club journey. Whether interacting with other Key Clubs or making an impact in your district, you will be busy.”
“I believe every Key Clubber should attend YC because it's a great time to meet other members and it's a great kick off to the new service year! (plus I heard from a little birdie that there's gonna be some "monkey business" this year)
Personally one of my favorite YC memories was when I got sick last year and got volunteered to play BINGO and I won.”
“Everybody should go to YC this year because the food will be AMAZING! (that's half the reason I'm going). If it’s anything like D be epic.”
“Key Clubbers should attend Youth Conference (YC) to develop essential leadership skills and gain inspiration for personal growth. YC offers networking opportunities with other passionate members, provides fresh ideas for service projects, and a chance to learn about successful initiatives from other clubs. Additionally, Key Clubbers learn about the broader impact of Key Club at the district or international level.”
“I have not been to YC since my time in Key Club, but you should come to Youth Conference because we get to learn more about you, and you get to learn more about your district board members."
“Montana key clubbers should attend YC because it's a great opportunity to learn. You get a chance to listen to board members talk about some really awesome things and our Governor's project this year is amazing. I'm so excited for everybody to work together and have a good year. I hope to see everyone there.”
“You should ABSOLUTELY go to YC because it is a fantastic way to get to know other Key Clubbers and the district as a whole! You make lots of memories, and friends for life. My favorite YC memory is last year’s District Board Hot Seat. If you know, you know.”
“Youth Conference (YC) is the first opportunity to bring together Key Clubbers across Montana. You get to meet kids from other clubs who share the same interest in serving. You’ll get to work on a service project with other attendees. Let’s not forget the amazing workshops you’ll be able to go to. I can still recall the buzz in the air from experiencing my first Montana Key Club Cheer! I had no idea what was going on or what these kids around me were chanting. I was anticipating the next time.”
“Why go to YC? Why not? Youth Conference is an amazing opportunity to develop leadership skills, gain inspiration and motivation, participate in service projects with members from other divisions, and expand your network. YC is also an amazing place to meet new people and allows you to learn from speakers, peers, and your District Board.”
“YC allows members from around the state to come together, have fun, and learn what it means to be in Key Club.”

“While communication with the clubs hasn’t been the best, from what I hear Key Clubbers aren’t on the right path to having a successful year. A report from the advisors states that some of the attendance hasn’t been great. This is concerning so I have assigned myself to go to each club within my boundaries and have a meeting with them.”

“There have been emails that went out to all three other Key Clubs in the Division. Additionally, there was a written letter that went out to the advisors of the Division seven Key Clubs. Each Advisor was given ideas on how to support the Governor’s project within their community and service projects. I am beyond excited to see what the clubs achieve.” “I’ve made efforts to reach out to the clubs in my Division and had slight success. I would like to get some feedback from them. I found out that The Harlowton Key Club has gained three new members which is more than they gained last year.

The Florence Key Club put on a "Alice and Wonderland" themed Homecoming dance this year. They had many Key Clubbers working on decorations weeks before hand, and boasted many members for setup and takedown. Altogether they raised $1,600 and plan to put the money to a noble cause. The next thing they plan on putting on is the annual Haunted House!

The DCHS Key Club started a recycling program at their school. It consists of five bins. During the school day the bins are placed meticulously in locations that get high traffic. As a club, they collect the bags from the bins whenever necessary and sort the items into three categories: soft plastics, hard plastics, and cans. They then remove all the caps and tabs and take it to their local non-pro

A couple of Key Clubbers from Havre High School attended the Suicide Awareness Walk at MSU-Northern. One Key Clubber was the keynote speaker. Several key clubbers decorated posters and signs to hold while doing the one mile awareness walk around the college campus. Attendees were able to select honor beads to wear. The different colors represented their connect to suicide.
