PACKED HOUSE AT MTAiQ FOR 3D PRINTING ROADSHOW

ORE THAN 60 representatives from a range of industry sectors came to the MTAiQ Innovation Hub in June to attend a showcase event on 3D Printing and manufacturing. Organised by Iain Gilmour, CEO of 3D printing services company 3D Space Labs (3DSL), the event was designed to give an overview of the business opportunities offered by 3D printing and focused on the 3D printing systems and services available through 3DSL and Markforged, the world’s premier 3D printer manufacturer. On hand to talk about the advantages and opportunities that 3D printing offers was Mr Gilmour, Richard Elving, Sales Manager Asia Pacific for Markforged, and Nathan Luu, CEO of NXG3N Robotics whose Pegasus flying car project has made extensive use of 3D printing and

the services of 3DSL to produce many components and drone scale models. Attendees were able to get to grips with several samples printed from materials such as nylon, carbon fibre and metal, and 3DSL had one of its Markforged Desktop Series printers on hand for demonstration purposes.
