HOME + LIFESTYLE

WELCOME TO THIS MONTH’S CRAFTY COLUMN.

Every month I share a crafty activity to try at home. I’m Michelle and I own the crafty foxes. I run adult and children’s workshops, children’s crafty parties, after school clubs, hen-dos and a wedding/events mobile crafty creche.

This month the crafty foxes have teamed up with Bury In Bloom to celebrate their 30 year anniversary with a ‘crafty can’ competition. Keep an eye out for more information and check out www.facebook.com/thecraftyfoxes.buryinbloom.

With this in mind this month’s creation is making a bunch of tissue paper flowers... 1

Stack the 12 sheets together. Fold accordionstyle. Crease each fold.

2

Fold the strip of tissue paper in half and cut a round scallop edge at both ends.

Fold pipe cleaner in half and slip over the middle of the folded tissue paper. Twist tightly.

Gently separate and fluff each layer of tissue paper, pulling to the centre of one side only. Be gentle and tease it out. Make sure you tease out right from the centre to get the most out of the paper. Repeat on other side to make flower even and full.

Wrap the end of the pipe cleaner around the top of the stick to give some ridgidity. Use different colours of tissue paper to make a bunch of flowers and place in a jam jar.
