The Queen’s School launches podcast for parents The Queen’s School has launched a new podcast for parents that provides insight into a variety of interesting topics. These include the benefits of outdoor learning, helpful tips for parents to avoid summer learning loss, the transition to school and things to consider when choosing your school. The first episode is with Headmistress of The Queen’s School, Mrs Sue Wallace-Woodroffe, who focusses on overcoming the myths and misconceptions of single sex education. She said: “We hope that all parents find the podcasts interesting and useful regardless of their chosen school. Alderley Edge is rated ‘Excellent’ in achievement and personal development of pupils Alderley Edge School for Girls in Cheshire is delighted to announce that it has been given the highest possible “Excellent” rating following a full inspection from the Independent Schools Inspectorate in June. After interviewing staff and students, surveying parents and observing classes and daily life at the school, the inspectors commented that “throughout the school progress is rapid, and students achieve highly in both academic and other areas”. In addition, they commented on the students being “hardworking and resilient with extremely positive attitudes to learning” and having a “genuine desire to succeed”. Headmistress Nicola Smillie commented “I am delighted with the outcome of the Inspection. The inspection team were rigorous but professional. The Firs School uses art to reflect and rebuild their school community The Firs School Chester recently created ‘Angel Wings’ artwork which was designed to help the children reflect and rebuild their school community after the difficult year they have all experienced. The project was masterminded by Head of Art & Design, Miss S. Bettany, who commented, “Whilst each feather, beautiful on its own, together as a collective, they are much more beautiful and make a stronger impact. This project became a celebration and representation of our full Firs family reunited.
