A very warm welcome to our Summer Issue. We love this time of year and the excitement that six weeks off school brings to the children. It can seem a long time for parents though! Six weeks of planning activities, family time and holidays, as well as factoring in working schedules, can be tricky. We have put together plenty of ideas in this magazine for you. Head to the Your SUMMER feature which offers up a huge selection of fun days out for all the family, allowing you to plan in some family time and day trips together. Plan ‘your summer’ and make lots of memories along the way!

Making sure your child is up to date with their routine vaccinations before overseas travel, starting or going back to school is the best way of helping to protect them against infectious disease. Get vaccinated, and then get back to what you love best.
Childhood diseases like measles and whooping cough are currently circulating, so its important children are up to date with routine vaccinations before starting or going back to school. If your child is due to be vaccinated or has missed any vaccines, you can book an appointment at your GP surgery.
CODYS Productions is an award-winning musical theatre group for 10-18 year olds. They are proud to bring THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL to The Brindley Theatre in Runcorn this September! Travelling abroad or to other areas in the UK?
It is important that parents and carers of children check they have received both their MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccines before travelling. If your child hasn’t had the MMR vaccination they could be at risk. Measles can be a very serious disease and one in five children who catch it need a hospital visit. It’s okay to have questions about whether vaccination is the right decision for your child. Always get vaccine and health information from trusted sources like the NHS. Radio Northwich’s charity event – Live Aid 40
FRIDAY 11TH & SATURDAY 12TH JULY
Four decades after the world’s greatest pop stars played two concerts to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia, a Live Aid 40 festival is being staged in Cheshire to mark the anniversary! The music and family fun event at Verdin Park, Northwich, on the evening of Friday 11th July, and all day on Saturday 12th July, features 12 tribute acts honouring those who performed at Wembley Stadium in London and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia in July 1985.
The family-friendly festival also has performances from local schools and singers, a children’s village with a glitter bar, sand art, bracelet-making, a tuck shop, games and a quiet area with books. This is Radio Northwich’s latest fundraising event for the two charities – Brain Tumour Research and Simply the Breast at Mid Cheshire Hospitals. Cheshire’s Oulton Park is gearing up for a busy few months with entertainment for all the family throughout the summer holiday period, including performance car shows, retro celebrations and themed festivals. Major highlights include the Historic Gold Cup, a three-day glance back at motor racing’s glorious past on 25th-27th July. Classic single-seaters, GTs, touring cars and more will star at the circuit’s signature event with car displays and themed entertainment adding to the nostalgic mood.
