The Queen’s School launches podcast for parents

The Queen’s School has launched a new podcast for parents that provides insight into a variety of interesting topics. These include the benefits of outdoor learning, helpful tips for parents to avoid summer learning loss, the transition to school and things to consider when choosing your school. The first episode is with Headmistress of The Queen’s School, Mrs Sue Wallace-Woodroffe, who focusses on overcoming the myths and misconceptions of single sex education. She said: “We hope that all parents find the podcasts interesting and useful regardless of their chosen school. We felt this was a new way of us being able to put our teachers’ knowledge and expertise to good use and provide something that parents will benefit from.” You can listen to The Queen’s School podcast on Apple or Spotify and find them on their website www.thequeensschool.co.uk

The Firs School uses art to reflect and rebuild their school community

The Firs School Chester recently created ‘Angel Wings’ artwork which was designed to help the children reflect and rebuild their school community after the difficult year they have all experienced. The project was masterminded by Head of Art & Design, Miss S. Bettany, who commented, “Whilst each feather, beautiful on its own, together as a collective, they are much more beautiful and make a stronger impact. This project became a celebration and representation of our full Firs family reunited. Community at The Firs Prep School is absolutely fundamental to the way we operate as a school, and this celebrates our ethos.” W: www.firsschool.net
