We come into today’s match with a bit of frustration lingering from recent results We’ve been the better team in the last couple of games, but the harsh reality of football is that sometimes, the outcome doesn’t reflect the effort or the performance. We’ve played well, but we ’ ve walked away with nothing, and that’s tough to swallow. But this is the nature of the game, and we need to keep pushing forward with the same level of commitment and intensity.
Today, we face Dorking Wanderers B, who are a well-drilled, disciplined side They’ve had solid results this season, so we know they’ll come here with confidence They’ll be tough to break down, but if we execute our game plan and stay focused, we know we can cause them problems We need to be at our best, both mentally and physically Our game has shown flashes of quality, and now it’s about turning those flashes into consistent performance over 90 minutes

The Dorking Wanderers Football Academy is run by a team of professional teachers and UEFA qualified coaches. The Academy was set up in conjunction with the construction of Meadowbank Stadium in order to link youth football and the senior management team at Dorking Wanderers FC, meaning that progression to the first team is a real possibility. Here at the DWFA our students study towards a Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development or a Higher National Certificate & Higher National Diploma.
The B Team is the pinnacle of the ever-progressive Dorking Wanderers Academy. Player's progress into the B Team after completing their journey through the age groups of our Elite Section from U7 to U16. Competing in the Surrey Youth League, our successful U16's were Surrey County Youth Cup winners in the 2022/2023 season. The B Team showcases the best young talent within the club and provides a first step into senior football. Playing at Meadowbank, the team has finished third in each season it has participated in the Southern Combination League Division One. Squad members also play for our National League AcademyA side and compete in the FA Youth Cup.
The Dorking Wanderers B Team have a new manager, Charlie Dunne, appointed for the 2024-2025 season. Charlie is a UEFA B license coach who has worked with a number of Elite academy's, including currently with West Ham United, Charlie has been a long-term supporter and associate of Dorking Wanderers, coaching the football club's first ever pre-academy U16's side back in 2016, and working with both the Youth and Elite sections over recent seasons. Charlie has also been a part of the coaching team with Dorking Wanderers Women during the last season, and has played a key part in helping the club compete and consolidate in their first ever campaign at Tier 5.
Our Director of Football, Jordan Clark, as well as our Head of Elite Youth Development, Richard King, oversee our pathway. As the club strives to develop first team players, our Future Wanderers are provided with a supportive environment and high calibre coaching. As testament to their hard work, players have been awarded with scholarships and first team contracts in past seasons.
